No. No. No. Last thing we need.

Hope it's nothing serious.

That IS why we need depth on the 53 roster for DL. Not an extra 3rd qb in Showers. Showers will never be on the active list. But the depth at DL, when one goes down, we can at least have someone the coaches believe in to come in.

This would be a big blow

Really any injury to any starting player is a big blow...depth on this team is non existent

I guess this is where it all comes back to bite Jerry in the *** for drafting guys like Gregory, Lawrence and signing Hardy. Sucks. When those guys fall off and then their backups fall off....Geez.

This is why you go after a guy like Freeney. Front office is so shortsighted at times. They were already thin at DE and now it could be much worse. You'd think after this franchise has experienced a couple of situations in recent years where they were woefully thin along the DL they would have learned their lesson. Nope.

People were soooooo shortsighted when they fought against signing him. The whole idea that he would stunt the development of young guys was absurd and further, guys get nicked up and injured.

Let's hope this is a slight muscle pull or cramp.

And who do we cut from our DL for Freeney? Esp when Lawrence is back after 4 games?

And who do we cut from our DL for Freeney?

As of now? Some bottom feeder DL who had no shot to make the team. Before this injury, there were 3 DEs that I would consider locks - Lawrence, Mayowa and Irving. Russell is a JAG. Gregory? Who the hell knows at this point.

As the camp progresses you find the 4-5 best DEs you have before final cuts. This ain't rocket science and we sure as hell don't have 5 stud DEs that you couldn't possibly upgrade for.

And as we might learn, it might have been nice to have a nice safety net in case of big injury.

Then what happens when Freeney gets hurt?

Then you go back to JAGs like Russell.

Isn't the goal here to build the best team you possibly can around Romo to get him a last shot a SB?

What's funny is that if Irving is injured, you guys will make excuses for the front office that they just get bad breaks when in fact, they could have insulated themselves by bringing in a couple of vet DEs for insurance, depth, etc. Shoot, Freeney signed a $1MM contract with Atlanta and it appears it's not even guaranteed. So if he sucked, you could just cut him.
