Ghostbusters: A waste of time and money

God I hate remakes... I'm down with prequels and sequels but remakes... most of them are just mindless.

"Planet of the Apes"
"Halloween"
"Friday the 13th"
"Texas Chainsaw"
"Evil Dead"
"Dawn of the Dead"
"Poltergeist"

Of that list Texas Chainsaw was the most entertaining.

There was a "Night of the Living Dead" remake done in 1990 that was pretty good.

Strangely enough I really liked the latest Planet of the Apes remakes. Not the 2001 one with Marky Mark, but the newest ones...

I never enjoyed the original movies as a kid...this new remake was never going to get my money. It looks like straight garbage.

I am a huge fan of the original. I went and saw the new one mostly because all the negative crap from people before it even came out, I just wanted to in my own way to give a big middle finger to 'em.

I would have preferred a continuation, maybe one of the characters inherited the station from Egon or something and suddenly activity started happening again so they recruit some colleagues to start it back up. But it wasn't bad IMO as a standalone new story either.

AMC has movies for $5 om Tuesdays and the kids have been dying to see it, so I checked it out. It was okay, but just not very cohesive. It seemed as if they didn't like what they had on the cutting room floor and ordered reshoots to funny it up some. Bad results imo, but the kids really liked it.

I just heard Splash is going to be remade, but instead of a mermaid, it's going to be a merman? WTH?

GIve it a ZERO.

Stopped watching halfway thru. Didn't laugh once. And I thought you can't cross streams? At the so called rock concert, they had their streams around the ghost crossing one another. No wonder it bombed at the box office. Good riddance.

There's something very important I forgot to tell you! Don't cross the streams… It would be bad… Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light.

Thanks for the review. I hadn't planned on seeing it, but your review confirms it. However, when viewing a remake, you can't take rules from the first and apply it to the reboot unless the reboot states the rule too. Did the remake mention that you aren't supposed to cross the streams?

Don't know if the remake follows the rules or not. Guess they don't. As for my review, go see it for your own. My taste in comedy is different than others I guess.

The two trailers that I saw were not funny at all.
