Like most normal fans, I'm excited, especially about Dak. But a couple of things I've not seen anybody talk about:

  1. Anthony Brown - Didn't notice him really, but that's probably a good thing. He must've done at least a decent job filling in for Scandrick. That's gotta be considered a positive.
  2. Ron Leary - OK, maybe he's been talked about a little bit, but he looked good. To have a completely new left side and not skip a beat on offense is pretty impressive even against a weak defense. Really glad we didn't trade away Leary.
  3. J.J. Wilcox - I know I'm gonna get blasted for this, and I know that Wilcox has major holes in his game. But he's playing a good bit, and he has made the biggest hits in at least two of our first three games. Both of the hits produces big plays. Against the Giants it was a huge stop on third down. Last night it was the hit that caused a fumble. Dare I say Wilcox has been our biggest defensive playmaker thus far this season???

Wilcox did the 1 thing he can do and he did it well..

I wish that happened more often.

I think you got 1 out of 3 that has not been talked about...but to be fair to you, that might be a better than average for a new thread that starts off with things nobody is talking about. :p:cool:

Fair enough. I haven't seen any discussion about Anthony Brown. Did I miss it?

If brown is a player that's makes a huge difference for next year
Wilcox is a hitter, lacks coverage skills
Leary is a starter quality play. Glad we have him for depth
Green didn't play bad for his first game either

With Wilcox, sometimes if you give a player a much smaller and simpler role they can really show up. Same think happened with Pat Watkins. We made him a dime safety/ STs player, didnt put him in charge of half the field like when he was a starter in 2006 and he made some plays for us on defense.

A couple of threads had him in it...but I was mostly just a little light hearted joking with you.

You keep on making threads.

Ah, I just see somebody started a thread on him an hour ago. Beat me to it. I didn't see it.

Minus holding calls and the chop block. He did okay.

They did and they are, but Dungy and Harrision did not have a lot of love for them pre-game.

I think the broken coverage by Carr vs. the Commanders received a lot of air-time all over... And that may have colored their perceptions. But really over the first 3 games of the season I think this is the best the secondary has played in long, long time.

I agree. Hard to believe they are keeping the defense decent. But, man, that front seven is struggling. If I was an opposing offense, I'd run up the middle against the Cowboys till they prove they can stop it.

I would do the same.

His first game
Penalties come from getting beat but for his first game I thought he held up fairly well
He's not smith but he does seem to be a guy we can develope

Agreed, it was funny at half time Harrison's reason for the lopsided game was that it looked like the Bears were not into the game.
