I think we all knew this, hopefully this will kill some of the discussion of Dak/Romo talk.

According to Ian,

#Cowboys, smartly, won't make a firm QB call until it's necessary. If Tony Romo isn't ready by Nov. 6 -- and he may not be -- Dak rolls on.

I think Ian's report is also meaning sound like Romo lost the starting job. He doesn't report that Romo is still not 100% and simply won't be ready to go by time for the Eagles game comes around.

I'm all for the Dak train and IF they are considering Romo, that is not the game to bring him back.

Must see TV - Wentz vs. Dak

Jerry, Stephen, and Mickey Spags have all said that it would've been a push to get Romo back on the field for the Eagles game.

There is no need to push this thing with Romo. Just let it play out and Romo needs to be behind the scenes getting himself physically ready.

It ain't broke, don't fix it.

Stash, I'm slowly coming around to this perspective, as well :(

Credit where it is due, you've been campaigning for it from the start, brudda.

I still hate typing those words ("coming around"), but it is what it is. Dak is dazzling.

How would it kill the dak/romo discussion? The prevailing thought around here and cowboyszone is that Romo would come back for the Browns?

I don't think you'll ever see the Cowboys "declare" Dak the starting QB this year. There is no reason to. Ride the hot hand, let Romo FULLY recover, and go back to Romo only if we need to.

Declaring Dak the full-time starter then sets up the narrative that he has been benched "due to poor play." The way we are doing it, we can return to Romo if needed and say it was the plan all along and that he wasn't healthy enough to play any earlier. And it doesn't have to sting Dak's development from a perception standpoint.

I have the same mixed emotions. I feel like Romo "deserves" his job back because of all he has done for us and he is the better QB right now, but Dak's performance can't be ignored and we are on a roll. Either way, it will be exciting when that decision is made.

Win/win, Mamacita! Either way, we have the best QB tandem in the league, a league that is first and foremost predicated on QB play.

Only took a month for some of you guys to finally come around

Not bad

Kills it for 2 weeks. we'll be beating this horse until Dak has a really crappy game (Which as a Boyz fan I hope not to see)

I hear ya. I sense the discussion is amping up. We're hitting the middle of a civil war in cowboyszone. And for the first time in a long time or anytime ever it's for a good reason.
