The researchers found that, in the years leading up to the new law, the male suicide trend was largely the same across all surveyed states. But as soon as medical marijuana was introduced, state trends began to diverge, with legalizing states recording a drop and non-legalizing states recording a surge. On average, states that legalized the medicinal use of the drug cut the male suicide rate from 27.2 per 100,000 men to 23.5 in the three years following the law change.

“Opponents of legalizing medical marijuana point to the large number of studies showing that marijuana use is positively associated with depression, the onset of panic attacks, psychosis, schizophrenia, and suicidal ideation,” the authors explained. “However, the association between marijuana use and outcomes such as these could be attributable to difficult-to-measure confounders such as personality.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, there is “good scientific evidence” that the medical marijuana can be used as palliative treatment for multiple sclerosis and other conditions involving chronic nerve and muscle pain. That said, success stories from patients suggest that the drug can help alleviate an even broader range of symptoms, including seizures associated with epilepsy. One example is Charlotte Figi, a 6-year-old with epilepsy whose life was transformed by a course of low-THC cannabis oil.

Now that you can study with controls because you have states where its allowed and those where it is not. It is being shown that suicide rates drop once you legalize/medicalize.

I'll LOL if that was all a ruse

(And be extremely grateful to the football gods)

I don't know and it certainly would not be out of character fo Gregory to do so but there are mixed signals. The NFL denies knowledge and so do the Cowboys.

Yeah, and fat people are proof that "food addiction" is totally legit.

Nothing physically addictive about weed.

Well the fact that a person can't stop smoking it and is risking Millions and millions of dollars kinda says other wise. Regardless of the reason.. whether its physical or mental or self medication, etc, doesn't really matter. He can't stop. He has done Rehab, he has done all this stuff and yet, he failed again.. if these reports are true. So people can say whatever, rationalize it however, but when you can't stop something, smoking, drugs, gambling, etc, its an addiction.

And I have personally known a few people that would rather smoke than work.. they gave up good jobs because they couldn't or wouldn't quit. I don't know if it is addictive or not, I don't smoke it. But when people can't stop, that is addiction to me, whether it is clinically described as addiction or not.

Possibly. I believe Hardy was a bad influence on him last year and he was recently busted and indicted for cocaine....not far fetched. Especially since people usually don't go to rehab for marijuana.
