True Dallas was his 3rd chance. I would hope that if he is given the chance to rejoin the team it will be with the understanding that he has to change his way. None of this showing up when it is convenient to him, he will be expected to be at the Star working out and at mini camps. I'm sorry the league can have their messed up rules about voluntary camp but if a player loves the game he will be there because he want to not because some lame rule can dictate that. I want guy 100% committed and if they are not and just looking for a pay check then just as Jimmy shipped those guys out when he came to Dallas so should McClain be shipped out if he is not willing to give all.

I don't disagree with you. But sometimes emergency situations make you desperate. I think as the Cowboys get closer to the No. 1 seed and the real possibility that they need to win just one game to get to the NFC Championship, they'll be more willing to bend their RKG approach.

But, here again, I don't know how the coaches feel about this. I'm just assuming they would entertain this because Jerry Jones seems open to allowing Ro to rejoin the team.

The brass needs to be cognizant of team chemistry. This is a team of workers, you don't introduce a malingerer into that.

Yeah, a malingerer like Romo apparently. LOL. Apparently, inserting a HOF-level guy who has always been revered by his teammates will just jack up chemistry. Again, I'm not bothered by the idea that Dak is the starter, but it infuriates me that Romo is not even getting a chance to compete, when he could very easily make us far more effective, especially in the red zone.

Kick the tires and see what's there. He's a HUGE upgrade over Hitch/Durant if he's in shape and his head is on straight. Two huge ifs I know

How do you make a R.Mclain thread about Romo lol. There are a billion other threads for that.

wow you guys are all about forgiveness arent you ? lol
The cowboys will decide if he plays or not.
It isnt like he is going to be resigned next year, they just might use him in certain sets this season if he is ready to play.
no harm in that.
I would talk to the other players about him, and if they didnt want him back, then that could be a deciding factor.
We could have a lb get hurt or out for game or 2 so would be good to have him as depth.

I imagine JG and Marinelli will have a say about whether they want to use him or not.

Not quite the same situation. We are in absolute desperate need of a pass rush. It's completely different than what the QB situation was.
Other than the fact that Ro doesn't provide any pass rush, I guess...........................................

:p

Come Monday should he show up I would hope he will be in shape because if not then it would only add fuel to the fire that he does not care. No doubt when he wants to play he plays well but there are been times during a season where his play on the field was not great.

Let him come back to the facility and bust his tail in practice for a few weeks and show the commitment that he's claiming he now has. Talk is cheap. And actions speak louder than words.
He could have been here the whole time like Gregory...substance abuse suspensions don't bar the player from the team or facility

They already had the right to fine him 30k a day for missing camp and 4/17ths of his salary for missing pre-season games......there is nothing left to recover

Right now we do not even know if he will show up in shape to play. He sure as hell did not stay in shape during the off season and when he did show up in June was over weight and out of shape. So now with the entire suspension completed he will come in and ready to play? We will see.

The other thing the suspension never prevented him from being at the Star working out yet did not do this either.

I think the two stories coincide. The team has been making noise about protecting team chemistry as the basis for not allowing Romo to compete...but then turns around and hints that they might be into bringing back a drug-abusing linebacker who can't even be bothered showing up for TC or practice. Something isn't computing...
