lol as opposed to those playing for love of the game and to see children smile?
Exactly.
Or maybe I made that remark since Ro has always tried to dodge practicing since he's been here, and has been suspended two times since joining us. There's a reason why we only give him one year deals, and no other team had serious interest in him before he ended up re-signing here twice.
He got a huge contract from the draft, and didn't play close to his ability at times.
The dude retired at the age of 23. Sure, I'm not expecting every player to be mature entering the league, but his track record is obvious, to me, that football isn't his #1 priority at times. We are talking about a guy who could of been a Willis clone, but didn't have it all upstairs to reach that level.
So, yea, I think he wants to come back solely for the money. Not for the team, or to win, just solely to collect some more money before even the Cowboys don't want him anymore. Some players play for the money, which I have no issue with and at least they show up and do the right things in order to keep on getting paid.
If he's in shape, and willing to play hard for his teammates, I'll be the first to admit I was wrong about him. I was happy about his play when he filled in for Lee. However, these antics over practice, showing up out of shape and getting suspended twice leaves a bad taste in my mouth. However, I don't think he's in game shape and wants to be on the active roster while he skips practice and slowly gets the rust off. By then, maybe he could contribute in the playoffs, unless he drinks that purp drink again.
We have a group of guys who work their butt off, and it'll be a shame if we cut someone in order to hope that Ro will care enough to play at the 2014 level to help us on defense.
