Barring injury to Prescott, it looks like Tony will act as the backup for the remainder of THIS season.
Agreed...........Dak would have to really start playing bad to get pulled so injury is the only real way Romo sees the field this year.

Dak goes down with minor injury in the Super Bowl. We're down in the 4TH. Tony comes in and wins in heroic fashion. Rides off into the sunset.

There's 7 games left and then 3-4 game playoff run [God willing].

While we're hoping Dak starts all of these 10-11 remaining games, I'm thinking there will be at least ONE game where Dak gets his bell rung or pulls something and will have to give up a start.

I didn't think about it before I voted. He could end up starting the finale if they have nothing to play for.

Feed him to the Eagles. Ship his carcass to Cleveland. Thanks for the memories.

Who knows what they decide to do. Should he? absolutely. It's called Karma.

Everything is turning up roses so far this season. Strong teams like Green Bay, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh aren't all they were cracked up to be. Cowboys with a strong run game and good, solid QB play have taken advantage. But it's not like they wouldn't be in the same position if Romo was playing.

Letting Romo carry the team for so long and then when it all comes together you tell him we don't need you anymore is incredibly lame in my opinion. I am ecstatic about Dak and what he has done and brought to the team. Knowing they won't have those lean years ahead searching for Romo's replacement is fantastic. But throwing Romo to the curb like they are doing is really disrespectful for all he's done. I'd rather see them let Romo play out the year and then rade him in the off-season. What has he got left? Lets see. Why not? Why not? really. Dak's always ready. What if Romo stays healthy and takes them right to the big game? How much better will the trade offers be?

I'm not going to enjoy the season watching camera shots of Romo on the sidelines trying to get a reaction every time Dak does something on the field.

It's bad Karma, what they are doing. Bad Karma.

I just have a gut feeling Tony will end up playing at some point. Why? I'm not sure. I just don't think a season that has been rainbows and butterflies so far will continue to be so perfect without any challenges.

Romo's not going anywhere. This is their time for a run at the SB and they need to take advantage of having ready to play two more than capable QB's.The Cowboys will work him in to knock the rust off and see exactly what he has left.

If the Giants catch Dallas (effectively putting Dallas in second place since they've beaten Dallas), that's when they really look at making a change IMO. Of course, it depends on individual achievements as well.

As long as they're in first place, I think they'll be afraid to mess with anything. But the Giants have two cupcakes coming up, so Dallas better keep it rolling.

This is something I could not answer because I don't know the future. Obviously if he gets hurt, Romo will see the field, so it's just hard to predict.

I need to see Dak play better against New York and Philly. Until then, I have this eerie feeling Romo will still be needed.

Dak's not ready to win a Super Bowl. Romo is if he can stay healthy. Especially with this shaky defense.

The Giants game was his first NFL start and I thought he played pretty well. Dez did drop a TD pass and Twill made a mistake near the end of the game that helped cost us. When the game was on the line against Philly, Dak was terrific leading us to a couple of TD's to tie and win the game in OT. Some act like Romo is going to be perfect if he were to have to play and that won't be the case. Who's to say Dak isn't ready to win a SB? Just because he's a rookie, anything is possible because most didn't think he was ready to do what he's done by leading us to an 8-1record and tying the longest winning streak in franchise history.

Not trying to bash Romo but he's never shown he's been ready to win a SB. We haven't gotten past the second round of the playoffs with him. The defense being shaky would be even shakier having to defend turnovers and Romo turns the ball over. He had 5 turnovers in his last two regular season games. Some can say what they want but I've never seen the Cowboys look as good as they do now with Romo at QB. Even in 07 we got dismantled early that season by NE. This team could very easily be undefeated.

Totally disagree on Romo. Sure, he wasn't ready those first couple of years he started, but since about 2012, he's been more than ready. Unfortunately, the team was lousy, or his body began to fail him. He was absolutely capable in 2014 once the team was good. He played brilliantly in Seattle and Green Bay that year. Should have been MVP of the league.

Hard to say Romo has been ready to win a SB when he's only got 2 playoff wins and never got the team past the second round of the playoffs. Not trying to put all the blame on him but facts are facts. He played on some very good teams, so don't try and spin he played on lousy teams. He had some very talented teams especially offensively but his leadership skills have been questioned over the years along with his poise in critical games and he never had the ability to make the players around him better.

Once his game started to struggle the entire team would fold with him. The mark of a great QB is being able to raise the level of play around them and we're seeing that with Dak. The team has stepped up with him. He's shown tremendous leadership and poise especially for a rookie QB. Romo played very good in 2014 and was outstanding vs Detroit in the playoffs but he only attempted 19 passes against Green Bay the following week. He made a poor decision to go to Dez on a 50/50 jump ball late in the game on a manageable 4th and 2.

This is like trying to guess whether Dak will be injured.

I really don't like what I have been hearing and reading since Romo's press conference. I get this sense that some people are hoping for a Dak injury (whether they want to admit it or not) or a Cowboys drought..both of which really irritates me. We all know how a back up QB would get the start. Can we just support Dak as our starting QB and not come up with dark scenarios that has his backup (Romo) recapturing his starting role? I think this is TOTALLY unfair to Dak and disrespectful. We all have our favorite players, but NO ONE should be above our favorite team.

Regardless of the motives for these comments, I can think that the TEAM is in a great position in having 2 highly capable (and healthy) quarterbacks on the roster at this time. I wouldn't mind having that kind of depth at the running back position where Morris seems to have lost steam...

The team is in a great position, but I think Morris is far removed from losing steam.
