It was simple logic. The problem with Romo is that sometimes goes out the door when people talk about it. Dallas is doing the right thing. It would be insane to upset the chemistry.

I'm a huge Romo guy, and even I'll say- people need to check their affection for Romo at the door when talking about this topic. I love the guy...but we're 8-1.

And it's not like we're winning despite Dak. He's performed at a very high level.

Hell, even Romo himself has admitted as much.

This whole "chemistry" argument is silly. Most of those guys on the team have played with Romo & had good "chemistry" with him during that 2014 Playoff run. Acting as if him being inserted into the offense is going to RUIN everything is laughable. I'm perfectly fine with Dak leading this team, mind you but enough of this "chemistry" BS as the excuse.

Then perhaps "chemistry" is the wrong word. It is more about disrupting the groove the team is in. There would be a series of adjustments that have to take place.

Even if Romo took over due to an injury for example. There would be a period of adjustment necessary.

The fact that most of the offensive players are familiar with him pales to the differences in the offense that absolutely would occur if such a switch took place.

The threat of a mobile QB goes away. The read option drops completely out of the playbook.

The way that we have scripted and won games would be slightly altered.

That is not something to be toyed with when you are on an unprecedented hot streak. I don't understand how people can dismiss that.

Disagree. The back shoulder throw would be available, a better knowledge of defensive schemes would be there not to mention the threat of more deep passes with Romo at the helm. This team is more a product of the players around Dak then Dak himself. Don't get me wrong I love the guy but to think that replacing him with Romo is a step back is laughable to me, to think that Romo don't have the respect of his teammates rather he starts or not is also laughable. Coaches made the choice, and that's fine i am enjoying this season immensely but I'm one that honestly believe the offense would operate better with Romo behind center. But we are winning like Jones said. So don't keep wearing the same socks you been wearing since the streak started.

You don't know football if you think Romo isn't capable of winning.

Acceptable, though as stated before, most have played with Romo back there, so an "adjustment" may not be as big of an issue as you'd believe.

Even if Romo took over due to an injury for example. There would be a period of adjustment necessary.
Agreed & given how long he's played in the NFL, I'm sure he'd manage to do that.

The fact that most of the offensive players are familiar with him pales to the differences in the offense that absolutely would occur if such a switch took place.
True. It could very well be more dangerous than it is now.

The threat of a mobile QB goes away. The read option drops completely out of the playbook.
The O-Line is the threat & the TIME it affords the QB.

The way that we have scripted and won games would be slightly altered.
True but still possible that it wont be "altered" enough to Lose games.

As I stated, I'm fine with Dak doing the job, though I believe Romo may have been able to do the same & that shouldn't be "dismissed" either.

The Cowboys along with the rest of the civilized world realize at this point Dak is the superior QB, otherwise Tony would be starting. It's football.

I just hope this doesn't come back to bite us in the playoffs. I still think Romo gives us a far better chance of going further, but I love what Dak has done so far. If this kid can lead us the promise land, that would be unbelievable fairy tale and something that has never been done with a rookie before. I was in from day 1 in the pre-season with this kid and was saying I have never seen a rookie do all the things that I witnessed from him. But yet there was so many that just said it's only pre-season and to relax. When Dak took over for Romo and someone asked him had he been in a situation of taking over the starting job, he answered yes in HS and College. When asked how it turned out he answered "They never got back their starting jobs back". Right there and then I knew that Romo was done as the starter.

Actually, I thought I heard that 25 players of the current roster weren't even on that 2014 team that lost in GB. Heard that right before the GB game this year I think.

Its more about the message you're sending to the team, how can you pull out Dak after this start? I do buy into chemistry simply because of the division you could potentially create in the locker room over the decision. Chances are the Cowboys would be successful with either QB, but plugging Romo in at this point comes with the risk of losing some players in the locker room. Especially if Romo, comes back rusty.

If anyone listens to bobby belt's podcast. He broke it down pretty well.

Maybe the Cowboys didn't feel Romo could do it physically anymore. He made the point about escaping the rush on the long td to Dez and he felt Romo couldn't do that anymore.

I'm torn still, but maybe he's right.
