We are now tied for 12th in the league for sacks w/ Steelers Patriots and Chargers with 34. Let that sit in for a second. Our much maligned much woe begotten defense is 12th in the league in getting after the qb. My God what a season.

We shut them down the 2nd half. The game was a high scoring battle, the team had already clinched the #1 spot, Lions playing FOR THEIR LIVES, and we shut them down. I don't know what that guy Rodney Marinelli said in the locker room, but the team better keep doing what they're doing. He's a good coach.
Think about that.

But yet I was laughed at just a few weeks ago. Look i seen this coming and the great thing is these guys are young and only improving. My goodness Gregory wasn't D Ware but for no preseason or training camp and not playing for almost a year he started to get pressure in the second half. I'm my sure if we will have after next week or even next season but I really hope he gets it turned around

I thought for sure that we were going to give up 45+

These guys still scare me to a point, just waiting for a total implosion on defense. I would prefer for that to happen next year though

Gregory Lawrence Collins are our 3 best linemen...Still not sure if Irving is the real deal or not.

Lawrence not playing to that level yet, 11 tackles and 1 sack. Irving I put ahead of him. TMcClain has had a good year. 40 tackles, 2.5 sacks. Mayowa is coming on, 6 sacks now.

Lawrence looks like a natural when rushing the passer I'm not worried about him at all, him and gregory coming off the edges would be our best option..still need to see Irving play a couple more games before making a judgement.

That's 13 sacks in the last 4 games.
In the first 10 games of the season the defense had 18.

When I have time I could do this for turnovers as well, something else our defense is thriving on right now, they forced 2 tonight, an interception and a fumble which they recovered.

That halftime adjustment was a sure-fired killer for the Lions. It's like the Cowboys set them up with a mirage before lowering the boom. If that's what this team has in store for its opponents going into the playoffs, I'd say their immediate future looks encouraging. Keep it up, 'Boys. :)

Turnovers figured in with sacks, working backwards:

Lions: 1 interception, 1 FF recovered, 1 FF not recovered to go with 4 sacks.
Bucs: 3 interceptions, 1 FF recovered, 1 FF not recovered to go with 4 sacks
Giants: 1 interception, 2 FF recovered, 2 FF not recovered to go with 2 sacks
Vikings: 0 interceptions, 1 FF recovered, 2 FF not recovered to go with 3 sacks
Commanders: 0 interceptions, 0 FF recovered, 1 FF not recovered to go with 0 sacks
Ravens: 0 interceptions, 0 FF recovered, 1 FF not recovered to go with 0 sacks
Steelers: 0 interceptions, 0 FF recovered, 1 FF not recovered to go with 0 sacks
Browns: 0 interceptions, 0 FF recovered, 0 FF not recovered to go with 4 sacks

Eagles: 0 interceptions, 1 FF recovered, 3 FF not recovered to go with 3 sacks
Packers: 1 interception, 3 FF recovered, 2 FF not recovered to go with 1 sack
Bengals: 0 interceptions, 0 FF recovered, 0 FF not recovered to go with 4 sacks
49ers: 1 interception, 0 FF recovered, 0 FF not recovered to go with 1 sack
Bears: 0 interceptions, 2 FF recovered, 2 FF not recovered to go with 0 sacks
Commanders: 1 interception, 0 FF recovered, 0 FF not recovered to go with 2 sacks
Giants: 1 interception, 0 FF recovered, 1 FF not recovered to go with 2 sacks

It's amazing to me to look back at the 5 games bolded above, where the Cowboys defense forced no turnovers at all, and realize they won all 5 of them. And it still kills me we got 3 turnovers vs the Giants in that last game we had with them and capitalized on none of them.

The 1 part of the season where i really started to get worried was the 4 game stretch in the middle there where the defense went 16 quarters without getting a turnover.

Now that defense has forced 10 turnovers and gotten 13 sacks in the last 4 games.

In your earlier post you said D Law got a sack at Steelers. In second post you put 0 sacks at Steelers
