QB Josh McCown to visit with the Dallas Cowboys today

If Tony was released the Broncos and Texas would create a market for Tony I think. Since the Cowboys are looking for
picks, there is no market since neither teams wants to trade. Takes at least two teams to make a market.

And Houston runs the very real risk of not getting Romo and being left out in the cold, stuck with another wasted year of Brock Osweiler. All because they wouldn't part with a draft pick? Moronic.

The famous Commander game where all of the defensive backs were injured. Whoopie.
I'm not saying he's a Hall Of Famer. Is he any worse then McCown? I don't think he is. There's been plenty of big-armed QB's that have sucked.

Well, they already made their bed with Osweiler and it looks like Savage may have to be their fallback.

Any confirmation JJs plane is on the taxiway? Why bring him in before the Romo situation is settled. Until we have confirmation on the whereabouts of JJs plane all just speculation at this point imo.

Yeah people seem to have some unrealistic value attached to Romo.

I am going to miss him but 3 out of the last 4 games he was on the field, he left with a serious injury. He hasn't played in two years and hasn't played 16 games since 2012. If his contract was a little less steep, we could maybe snatch a 3rd but with his contract, nobody wants to touch him.

Even the team that signs him knows they have a 2 year bandaid at best...worse case scenario is you have 2 games and another injury leading to retirement. Who wants to pay 14 million and a draft pick for those odds?

Nobody should. Make zero sense. But, I think the feeling is someone out there will be so desperate, they'll do it anyway.

I mean we'll see. The pressure to win now in the NFL is huge. Many times overriding logic and reason.

Worse case Tony stays a Cowboy or retires. I'm actually ok with either one of those.

Probably, but we have our saviors in Dak and Zeke...What could go wrong with next year?
Teams with good contingency plans always go much further than those that carry all of their eggs in a singular basket... I know you know this.

I didn't say from my perspective just McClay and Stephen. Cheap and an upgrade of sorts. Makes sense.

I'm not sure he's either. He made good money in Cleveland, where he was signed as a starting option. He wasn't cheap. And based on recent performances, I don't think it's a given that he's an upgrade either.

This looks like more of a failed pattern to me. Where Garrett and the Cowboys sign a washed-up veteran backup, paying more for it than most teams do for their young guys, and then watch as the guy collects a paycheck and loses any game where he's actually needed.

From Brad Johnson, to Jon Kitna, to Kyle Orton.

Who said the Cowboys were good at contingency. 2015 is/was a prime example. The crystal ball in Dallas may be a little hazy this spring.

Sure, they're stuck with Osweiler for another season. But does that mean you throw away a shot at a championship? I've looked at their cap, they could definitely afford Romo and Osweiler in 2017.

Unfortunately, that's the way the Cowboys FO rolls. I wish the Cowboys would draft a QB every year like NE and just try and develop
some for use or future picks. We just don't have a QB guru on staff.

If they felt the same way they would already be dealing for Tony some which-a-way. I just think teams know the lay of the land
and wait on Jerry to pull the ripcord.

When I'm reading that Mike Glennon is being offered $14 - $15 million a year from Chicago, and that Cleveland would give up the #12 overall pick for Jimmy Garropolo, how can anyone say that a team can't get anything for Tony Romo?

We'll see. It's far from over yet.

Jerry did mention that when he held court recently. Talking about drafting another young quarterback to go with Dak and Kellen Moore (mentioned him specifically). I think that's a much better move than signing McCown.

Both are not as good as Romo but, youth has it's fountain these days. Teams don't feel the same way about Tony as they did Manning I guess.
It may not be completely over but, the fat lady is practicing scales.
