The idea of McKinley nauseates me at the moment.Dallas Cowboys: It's no secret the Cowboys need pass-rushers, and a scouting source there told me the team likes the look of Tennessee's Derek Barnett and UCLA's Takkarist McKinley.

At 28, yeah it does at the moment. The idea of McKinley nauseates me at the moment.

Barnett and it's not close for me. He's the only pass rusher I think would be a value at 28(that may be there) over the DBs, WRs and TEs who could be there.Barnett= higher floor. McKinley= higher ceiling. If both are there do they go with production (Barnett) over projection (McKinley)? Jerry loves wildcatting.

I think he has better burst ,quicker , and more bend. Barnett is a better all around player right now. What about Tak gives him the higher ceiling?

Personally Im a fan. Is he my favorite. No. Did his combine not live up to the hype. Yes.I think I may have been more apt to believe that before the combine. The narrative coming into the combine was Tak being a phenomenal athlete that was going to blow the doors off Indy. After the dust settled and posting a solid forty time, the rest of his metrics were ho-hum. In fact, his 3-cone time (7.48), which is an indicator of burst, change-of-direction and bend, was really subpar relative to his size 6'2" 250 lbs. There were guys that were taller and literally outweighed him by 40 lbs putting up similar to better times. His 20-yard shuttle, which shows short-area quickness and explosive lateral movement was one of the worst of all DL tested. In fact, Caleb Brantley, who outweighs Tak by 57 lbs (weighs 307) matched his time.

But I think there is more athleticism, raw ability and motor to develop into an elite RDE. His hands really need to be developed. And right now he seems more like an energy/effort rusher out of the gate in terms of technique. But that can be coached
Reminds me alot more of Danielle Hunter then his alum on the same team Aaron Barr. Hair on fire DE that body and skill tobdevelop into a legit RDE. Personally I like those cats. Liked Hunter coming out. Not a top 15 guy some thought he might rise to. But the lower end of round 1 is a good spot for him.
There is alot of technique work to be done with Takk. One of this biggest things about him right now is how to engage. He has excellent arm length, but no hand work to use it to an advantage. I think once he masters that he will be a threat on the edge. He is a guy that if we draft, I expect a low sack total as a rookie. And a spike in year 2. Probably be very effective in the run, with some splash plays . I'd rather have Barnett or Taco, but I think they are long gone at 28. Takk for me is the type of DE you expect at 28. Shows traits to be an edge threat on the right side, but needs work to get to that pointI get it and wouldn't be too disappointed if we took Tak (depending on who was still on the board) at #28. I think Danielle Hunter has a lot more tools athletically (4.57 forty, 1.57 10-yard split, 36.5" vert., 10'-10" broad, 6.95 3-cone) and physically (6'-5") than Tak that when put together with a relentless motor (which Tak does have) creates a special player. One thing that does concern me about Tak (credit to someone else who brought it up originally) was that I haven't seen one play where he captured the edge on a college OT for a sack.
