Stupid.

Right after free agency starts, and now it is drying up, Free wants to retire.

I hate stupidity, and we are just stupid.

There was actually some Free retirement talk going around a month ago, so this didn't really come out of nowhere. Free was considered the weak link of this line, his play has been clearly eroding, and was in the last year of his contract anyway. The Cowboys aren't losing a whole lot here outside of his leadership.

This is a blow, unplanned and no replacement with no real cap room to backfill. If he's just NOW advising the organization he screwed us. Can Dallas go after some signing bonus money?
Well I've heard many times on this board how bad he was so replacing shouldn't require must more than a drive thru McDonald's

Instead of whining, Cowboys fans should be thanking the sports gods that their team is now one of the elite run organizations in pro sports!

Cowboys have handled this off season beautifully!

Fake news is looking for any reason in which the Cowboys won't be as good in '17 as they were in '16, so you won't get a nuanced take from them. There is money in the Cowboys being in disarray when it comes to the media narrative.

Truth is, the Cowboys aced free agency

No long term cap debt used on average players

They brought back the guys who will help them win games!

They didn't lose anybody they can't win without

Signed their most important FA to a sweetheart deal!

Retired their long in the tooth RT a year too early rather than a year too late

Replaced McClain with what McClain was in 2014... a nobody on an one year deal! Same with the corner

Cowboys have come along way from 2008. Remember when they backed up the Brinks truck up for everybody!

12-4

Been saying this all of the free agency season.....we aren't losing much. Except we really don't have anyone to replace him at the moment, just like several other positions after a 13-3 season. Btw, I hate Free.

The point is, there are too many damn holes. Can't understand why fans can't realize that.

Not a surprise. Totally expected to be moving on from Free this year.

I believe it was Archer, he stated the team was aware of Frees retirement before FA begun

LOL keep Martin and Collins at the guard positions and look for a replacement RT in FA or during the draft.

Why the heck are you guys complicating this? Move Collins, then our LG position becomes a need. Just have Collins in the position he has experience in and was developing.

Free agency started days ago, now we gotta draft one when we have holes everywhere.

Doesn't make sense, even from a homer standpoint.

Free was a great run blocker and a horrible pass blocker................problem is that Chaz Green is made of glass, so we really don't have a lot of options right now.

Nice of Free to wait several days into free agency to drop this nugget:angry:

Bc you can't pay the entire OL

Understand that, I just saw this really, been busy. But if we knew, we should've actively been looking for a replacement.

Keep Leary, or I guess we think Chaz can be healthy. Either way, they had alot of problems and they didn't tell us or deal with them.

I don't agree. I'd rather use the extra money and invest it in the defense

and who in FA should we have desperately went after? FA for RT was thin. Wagner will be earning nearly $10 mill a year, Remmers is trash (Ask a Carolina fan), Mills stayed with Buffalo

So, the RT was already dry - so the complaining here is just for the sake of complaining. We should give a look at Vollmer - Have him as a stop gap in case we can't find a suitable replacement in the draft or Green doesn't develop.

Well we have and inconsistent Collins and no RT to speak of. Solution could be to make the OL weaker while making the D stronger, while I think Chaz can be better than Free, the only question is can he stay on the field.

Yeah, and it's a HUGE question. NO way in my mind they can relay on him. No way.

So we have no real CBs, no RT, no safeties except maybe Bryon, Jaylon who knows, no DL, but everything is great.

I need a drink.
