anyone see the "rushing to failure" hit piece article on Tim tebow a few days ago?
What was up with that? it was extremely lengthy too, it was such a blatant piece of hatred you'd think tebow stole the guys girlfriend and shot his dog. I mean seriously I don't get the hatred for the guy. He's been nothing but a class act, never in trouble with the law, didn't beat women, nice to animals, and has never asked for any special attention or been boastful of anything. So he didn't make as a starting QB in the NFL, guess what, neither have a thousand other guys. He took his best shot at it when 99% of the world wasn't good enough to get to the point of getting that shot. I know someone else that didn't cut it, Jamarcus russel and he went #1 overall. Ryan Leaf....akili smith, Andre ware....Vince young... but people aren't writing hit pieces on them. So now tebow is trying baseball. Most of the world would be thrilled to have a shot at the big leagues and I'm sure tebow is too. He hasn't asked for special treatment, just a shot which he's shown enough to earn. And maybe he fails but so do most people. I know another person who failed at pro baseball, Michael Jordan. But this writer who I'm sure has never failed at anything in his life is taking pot shots at someone with twice the class and 10x the athleticism he ever had. Pathetic. What's worse im quite positive that if tebow were a different color this writer would never have dared write this blatant hate article.
Did this author write a hit piece on Kapernick after he disrespects the nation and gets benched for crummy play?

Im not a big fan of him and think he happens to be an attention *****.

Tebow is a devout Christian. And he is open about it as he should be. Nothing to be ashamed of. And that irritates and angers a lot of people. Its not just his color, its his faith. For him its the double whammy. White male and devout Christian outspoken about his faith. That combination is the favorite for being persecuted and bashed in this country. Ironic to say the least when you look at our country's origin.

Not a tebow fan, but I am a fan of his work with Morgan's Wonderland here in San Antonio

It's ESPN, wouldn't expect anything less. Let them keep going the way their going, and we won't have to worry about them anymore.

Sports writers are the biggest unathletic geeks on the planet, most are all about politically correct platitudes, of course they pick on Tebow because it's "safe"....ESPN is terrible and their smug, arrogant, east coast elitism is why I stopped watching them years ago

Tebow is definitely an attention ***** and overbearingly arrogant.

There are Christians who support him simply because of his Christian message and ignore the fact he he thinks too good to be a reporter or too good to play TE.
He's the male version of a princess.

There are hundreds of athletes who are uncompromisingly Christian that are not turning down NFL chances or ESPN jobs to "try baseball".
Yesterday he went to the wrong warm up circle... struck out twice and lined into a double play on his only contact.
He did "draw" a hit by pitch but was promptly doubled up at first base because he had strayed too far from the bag.
Considering he didn't play the field it was about as bad as it gets.
He's content to put butts in seats and make a mockery of the game for a paycheck.
That's annoying to say the least.

Oh noo not the white man is being persecuted troupe. I see it don't matter what race you are folks got their victim cards out and ready to play them smh.

As for the top part I agree even though I don't have anything against him. OP must be a Tebow groupie because they are going above and beyond for someone they aren't connected to personally if they aren't.

I don't have any extreme feelings one way or another for Tebow but I thought it a bit unnecessary and cruel to write a 10 page hit piece about a genuinely decent guy trying to make it

I hear you it just reads funny on a message board that's all esp for such a non factor like Tebow. This guy is a sports Kardashian honestly that gets toooooo much credit for being a nice guy.

You dont think white males are targeted?
No I don't. I think the less successful of any group have these excuses cued up ready to go though. If every group has the same complaints how can they all be being targeted lol. I don't think you can have a good target if you point at everybody esp with how targets are supposed to be focused at a particular thing but maybe someone got future tech that I haven't saw yet lol.

Fwiw I will say there is a clear and severe shortage of and need for more negative press articles in general these days.....

I never looked at it this way. Good point...

Think people just got tired of hearing about Tebow in general.
He just keeps on popping up, which usually is weird for a guy who never panned out in the NFL and wants to try another sport. I mean, seems like every interview with a player they thank Jesus/God for the opportunity so it's not like Tebow is a minority being a Christian in sports. He is more outgoing about his religion as a player, but to me it wasn't Tebow that was overdoing it, it was his religious fans overdoing the talk about Tebow. If that makes sense.

However, don't get the reason to write such a long tirade against him. funny it comes from an ESPN writer, the network that slobbered all over Tebow in the past.
