You can only get back 5 million, his salary.

From a relative cap standpoint but we were still going to be charged the $20m in dead money. It was just spread over the next 3 years.

We save $26m over what we were projected at in 2018 and 2019 as well as the $5m this year.

Newly-Signed CB Carroll ‘Can’t Wait’ For Upcoming Meetings With Eagles

Carroll apparently felt so comfortable at The Star that he decided to cancel his visit to the Steelers and chose to sign the offer from the Cowboys. He admitted he might’ve been able to get more than the three-year, $10 million contract he received from Dallas, but Carroll said he’s interested in a bigger goal.

“It’s really not about the offer,” said Carroll, who played four years in Miami from 2010-13 before joining the Eagles. “I just want to win. I appreciate the opportunity Coach [Jason] Garrett and Mr. [Jerry] Jones have given me to come to a prestigious organization like this and be a part of a winning tradition and winning culture around here. I just see it as me being another piece to help the team win.”

Was glad they brought Carroll back. I've always thought he was a solid corner with some upside.

Wow - I'll admit I was wrong last year about Carroll, before he got hurt. He was playing so tentatively under Chip. I like his aggressiveness now.

Nolan, great game tonight. Appaerntly that caught on and we got 3 more picks. Enthusiasm is contagious.

YEAH, NOLAN!!!! So glad that you chose to stay in Philly!

Nice signing. Carroll is a competitor and will push for playing time. I like his physicality but needs to improve his his technique at the line of scrimmage on press. Another solid move to keep the off-season moving.

Great move. Loving the FO decisions so far!

AGAIN...just depends if they are coming or leaving! The "all" comment has been disproved with just one of the above comments.

The dead money is coming whether it's this year or next is irrelevant. Saving the 14 Million will be impactful long term. Besides there isn't a FA worth spending the cap savings on for 2017 at this stage anyway.

Carr's lowlights would take hours to view.

Just watch every game. Seriously, what are Carr's highlights?

The dude gets onto the field, that's the first thing everyone says when they talk about him. Of course availability is an admirable trait, but if that's all you got I'm looking for an upgrade on the field.

I will say that off the field Carr seems like a great guy.

Romos salary is 14 Million in his current contact for 2017. Dallas would save 5 Million upon trading him after netting the dead salary cap money.

If Romos salary was 5 Million Dallas would have already dealt him for a high pick

Before he went to Dallas, the Eagles fans were riding his jock...

They were killing Carroll last season. You linked above a bunch of stuff prior to the 2016 season starting.

I can tell you right now, that there aren't many up here in Philly lamenting that they lost Carroll in FA.

I always chuckle when the best or first thing that people use to defend Carr is that he's on the field all the time. Again, that's like your buddy saying the best about your blind date is that she has a really good personality.

Some people actually value personality over looks......I'd take a decent looking woman Witt good personality then I would a beautiful women that's a handful.

Some were killing him but some were not, many thought he played much better in 2016 because he was more aggressive unlike playing under chip.

Others hated him especially after he went Dallas.

There is no doubt we pick a CB in the first two rounds and do not re-sign Mo or Carr. FO has decided to remake the secondary after years of sub par play. I applaud the idea, but not sure Carroll and a rook will be an upgrade in year 1. May have to take a step back to take a step forward.

Haha, love that shot at his former team.
