Will FO make a move for AP?

Lacy signed in SEA. Lat Murray just signed in MIN. We lost Dunbar to LAR. Even at 32, AP would be a significant upgrade over Morris (who we can cut without much dead money) and would be great insurance in case Zeke gets suspended (knock on wood). APs market is very soft and I think a one year $4-5 mil deal would do it for him to come back to Texas. Thoughts?

just like with most free agents, the longer they are available, the better the chance they get a call from us. wouldn't mind having him here, but he's going to have to take a major paycut. not sure we would pay him 5 mil...

I don't see AD taking a backup role. I think Dallas will look later in the draft for a change of pace RB.

never thought i'd say this.....but with zeke here, mcfadden is the better fit. good pass catcher and blocker and can hold the fort down for several games if needed. Won't demand too much to take away from zeke and should still come cheap and wants to be here.

He is 32 years old, coming off an injury marred season, and hasn't averaged more than 4 yards per carry since 2013,-- nearly 4 seasons ago.

I am not in favor of picking up AD -- no matter how he cheap he may come.

I'd prefer McFadden. His willingness to play ST last year was pretty cool. AP doesn't seem like a guy who wants to come somewhere as a clear #2. Also, he beats his kids.

Maybe so. I do think that AP would offer a better 1-2 Down threat, but you're right on 3rd

It would be interesting to say the least but I think he wants too much money or he would have already signed somewhere. I say go with McFadden and a later round all purpose back with some speed who can return kicks. Position covered. Move on.

We don't need a back like Peterson to do backup duty. Rather keep Romo if we are going for unneccessary depth just to have depth

Peterson is a lot like Morris(better though). He will need more than a few carries to get a rhythm. He also adds nothing to the passing game.

Jamaal Charles would fit better because of his versatility.

Picture the first 2-4 games with Zeke suspended for violating the personal conduct policy. That's why.
It's not that AP isn't a hell of a RB but at what cost. Then there is the whole year his here under used.
