The Cowboys need a pass rusher. Why don't they just draft TJ Watt and be done with it?
I'm starting to like him a lot he's got a high motor and work ethic. I'd say he's at least as good as Sean Lee was coming out. Not saying he'll be that good in the pros, just as a college player they are very similar.

Athletic specimen. Not on his brothers level, but who is.

I think they grade him out higher then any CB that will likely be on the board 28. I think it would come down to him, Takk or maybe even Willis depending on how they grade him. I think they will have a DE lean at 28 and will take a DB if great value falls to them. Which it very well could

If they take Watt, they would have some potentially good pass rushers in Watt, Smith, Tapper, and Collins. With Smith and Tapper coming in, it is like they have already drafted two new players before the draft has even started. Also, Collins missed a lot of time at the beginning of the season last year and really came on strong.

I think he's built to be a NFL lb Not a de.

Still wouldn't be done with it. Still need to replace dlaw and Gregory.

I think that he will be just fine with his hand in the dirt. Little brother will play with a motor and a chip on his shoulder to show big brother what he can do.

Most 3-4 OLBs rush from the Nickle and Dime with their hand in the dirt in a 4 man line anyways. If he gets drafted to a 3-4 team, he will spend 70% of his snaps in a 4 man line anyways. Most teams play 30% or less of their snaps in base D

For the 12th millionth time, a 3-4 ROLB and a 4-3 RDE are basically the same player.

He measured in at 6'4" 252 at the Combine.

DeMarcus Ware was 6'4" 251 at the Combine. Ware, a college 4-3 DE, moved to a 3-4 OLB under Parcells, then back to a 4-3 DE, and then back to 3-4 OLB for Denver.

John Abraham and Dwight Freeney have also gone back and forth between the two defenses. So has Julius Peppers and Mario Williams. Terrell Suggs was a 4-3 DE at Arizona State and has performed the exact same job for the Ravens 3-4 for years. Cameron Wake has had success in both schemes for the Dolphins. So on and so on.

Watt will be fine in our scheme.

People like to regurgitate bs talking points that are clearly wrong. I'll wait for someone to say Gregory is an olb because those same people were begging him to save us at the start of last season and TJ Watt is much bigger :lmao2:

My problem with this is its easy to say 'a 3-4 lb and a 4-3 De are basically the same', but in reality, you're asking a small guy to take a beating every game every snap from men who outweigh them by 60 lbs.

We can say Crawford can play Dt, or Ware can play De, but when you subject them to that punishment they get hurt a lot more and make plays a lot less.

Where was he drafted to play by the Dallas Cowboys? Is Watt not 20 lbs heavier? Cmon man, stop playing with me.

He's never played a full season and I don't think he'd able to at his size.

He's not exactly a shining example to point to.

I will say that Watt appears like he has a lot of room for more weight, so he can probably get much bigger
