I'm not usually the most "glass half full" fan and most of you guys know that (all too well!), but in looking at this team, what they accomplished in 2016, their youth, and the players they're adding in both the draft and free agency, my hopes are SKY HIGH!

I'm just seeing signs for improvement and reasons for optimism each and every place I look.

I need a dose of reality from some fellow fans to tell me what I should be worried about. (Other than backup QB, that one might be legit based on the Romo, no-Romo beliefs)

But the more I look at this team, the more excited for what they can be in 2017 and beyond I get.

Someone talk me out of it!

Im worried about the secondary and the lack of depth at linebacker.

We're relying on 2-3 rookies to guard the likes of Obj, Amari Cooper, Alshon Jeffrey, Demaryius Thomas, and Julio Jones.

At LB we have Sean Lee, Jaylon Smith (who likely will be playing with a brace) and very little else.

Jaylon's nerve.

Dak's sophomore slump.

Zeke will get suspended.

Heath will play and he is poop.

Still no pass rush everyone knows Taco is only good against the run and D-Law has a broken back.

Sean Lee injury.

Scandrick washed up.

No backup RB.

O-line decline (no Leary, no good replacement for Free, chemistry will suffer).

Dez getting older and a troublemaker as we all know.

Witten slower than my grandpa.

Jason Garrett.

Shall I go on?

Taco will bust in my opinion (totally hoping I eat crow)

Besides that, I'm freaking stoked for this season with super bowl expectations

My thinking is this:

Even if he busts, as you fear, they should still get something from him, right?

And they should get something from Charles Tapper if he hits the field as well.

And that's something that they didn't have last year for their pass rush.

So, however small even the biggest pessimist sees things, they should be better in some way.

Worry about the defense. Don't sugar coat it. The psss rush was non existant and didn't resign the secondary. The secondary was over all dang good, considering the lack of pressure. We still to date do not have a stud pass rusher on the roster. I like the draft, but I will believe the defense will be better when I see it.

They will be just fine...fun to watch. I just think when it gets serious in January they will come up short. Too many things will have to fall in place. I'm looking at 2019 for them to strike fear in the league.

Bunch of picks next year and another offseason and FA. Now are they finally headed in the right direction for sure? 1000% yes. Can they do it this year? yes.....about 30% shot for the NFC championship. About 10% shot at the Super Bowl. This team has the talent to be in the Playoffs, beyond that is a dark hole at this point. Atlanta did have 3 rookies start on Defense last year so who knows. I just gave you an honest opinion at this point . maybe lighting strikes twice in two years and Lewis, cheto and smith set the world on fire.

I'm not trying to "sugar coat" it, but really what did we lose?

These same guys people are now worrying about we're the same names that people wanted to run out of town in 2015.

I give the new coaching arrangement more credit for the success of 2016 than I do these players suddenly "getting it".

And, as "dang good" as they were, nobody got their hands on the football.

As for the pass rush? We have two new faces added to the mix in Charlton and Tapper and no significant loss. That's a plus in my book, even if either or both make only minimal contributions.
