My thinking is this:
Even if he busts, as you fear, they should still get something from him, right?
And they should get something from Charles Tapper if he hits the field as well.
And that's something that they didn't have last year for their pass rush.
So, however small even the biggest pessimist sees things, they should be better in some way.
Just playing Devils advocate here...but it's not a far stretch to get close to zero from Taco and Tapper..happens all the time where first round picks offer absolutely nothing..I'm not suggesting that I think that will happen...but I do think it's a stretch to say worst case scenario is a small impact but more than nothing
And the Green Bay Packers. The only thing that can stop us now will be the Officiating
I'll respectfully disagree.
I think it's an enormously far stretch to say that this team will get "close to zero" from either one, much less both.
Ridiculous in fact.
Keep it up, stash. Ceiling is the roof!I'm not usually the most "glass half full" fan and most of you guys know that (all too well!), but in looking at this team, what they accomplished in 2016, their youth, and the players they're adding in both the draft and free agency, my hopes are SKY HIGH!
I'm just seeing signs for improvement and reasons for optimism each and every place I look.
I need a dose of reality from some fellow fans to tell me what I should be worried about. (Other than backup QB, that one might be legit based on the Romo, no-Romo beliefs)
But the more I look at this team, the more excited for what they can be in 2017 and beyond I get.
Someone talk me out of it!
I can't find a whole lot not to be optimistic about. Admittedly, I am more of a glass half full kind of guy though.I'm not usually the most "glass half full" fan and most of you guys know that (all too well!), but in looking at this team, what they accomplished in 2016, their youth, and the players they're adding in both the draft and free agency, my hopes are SKY HIGH!

You have no idea whether we have a stud pass rusher on the roster. None of us have seen Taco or Tapper on the field. We don't have a proven one, but we still could end up with one or two.Worry about the defense. Don't sugar coat it. The psss rush was non existant and didn't resign the secondary. The secondary was over all dang good, considering the lack of pressure. We still to date do not have a stud pass rusher on the roster. I like the draft, but I will believe the defense will be better when I see it.
How can you say that? There's a laundry list of players drafted in the first round that says otherwise..again, I don't think it happens...but it happens every year

I think a lot of people expected great seasons in 2008,2010, and 2015 following great seasons only to be let down.
I guess you'd have to show me there first rounders that contribute the "absolutely nothing". Much less two of them in both Charlton and Tapper.
