A Comparison of Dak to Derek Carr

Article lost all credibility when it said the Raiders has possibly the best supporting cast in the league. That is a laughable assertion. The OL is up there, Cooper is good and Crabtree is solid, but best in the league group they are not.

Cowboys OL > Raiders OL
Cowboys WRs > Raiders WRs (as a group)
Cowboys RB >>> Raiders RB

Well you know Risen will ignore it. I think Carr AT THIS TIME is the best young QB in the game. Easily better than Luck. Better than Wilson if not by as much. Dak has to show he is NOT a one year wonder. If Dak can show consistency this year then he becomes the best young QB in the NFL.

I don't care what anyone says about Risen. I think it's cool to have an Eagles fan donate and contribute to our board.

Cowboys receivers aren't better....deeper..not better

Myself, I'll take Dez over Cooper. And Crabtree, I'd rather have Beasley over him. Don't follow Oakland, so I'm sure they have other receivers, but just know their top 2.

You would rather have Beasley than Crabtree? Cmon man..that's just silly

And Dez isn't better than Cooper..but at least that's debatable

Beasley vs crabs isn't even the comparison...it's williams vs crabs

Why? Because Beasley is one of the best slot recievers and at getting open? Ya, so silly. As for Dez/Cooper, Dez has been battling injuries last few years, when healthy, he has proven to be one of the top recievers. And he is eltie in the red zone.

Beasley is better than Williams. Beasley was targeted 98 times last year vs 61 for Williams. So it's obvious Dak prefers Beasley over Williams. So it's Crabs vs Beasley.

Beasley is better than williams..but Beasley isn't our #2 wr and he only plays in the slot..and crabs is an outside wr..just like williams..

And Beasley still isn't better than Crabs

Beasley was targeted 37 more times than Williams, thus Dak prefers him over Williams. Don't matter what you think he is or how he is used as #2 or #3.

You like Crabs, majority here like Beasley. Beasley is a better route runner than Crabtree.

I'd be willing to bet most people on here don't think Beasley is a better WR than Crabtree

I agree with a lot of what this guy says. Reading through his work, his analysis jives with what I posted last month in the 6 rising quarterbacks thread.

Carr has a terrific supporting cast, does not handle pressure well and rushes checkdowns,

Tannehill is underrated, handles pressure well and has improved his downfield accuracy

Mariota reached a superstar level last season, with his one flaw being downfield accuracy.

Seems like a sensible sort. Glad he thinks highly of Dak.

Dak's my QB!!!!

Bottom line is you can't compare a rookie to a 3rd year QB who didn't complete last year.

Raiders have always loved talent, and Carr has a huge amount of arm talent, probably going to get paid a huge amount of money soon cause of that. They had a great draft getting him and Mack in the same draft. Comparisons are difficult, but we are bored so why not.

Present day and contract wise, I would take Dak and run.

Dak's QB rating in the Minnesota game was 108.3.

Which is why QB ratings are dumb.

Completing 12 of 18 passes for 139 yards (much of which came on one play) shouldn't be a 108.3 rating. Those stats should be there at halftime. They only scored 10 offensive points (there was a blocked punt near the goalline.)

I put very little stock in stats.

LOL!

Dak's mobility and youth (potential upside) are WAY more impressive to me...Carr had a great season, so did Dak...Dak had his great season in one in which he was learning the game from the ground up and where he expected to NOT start, Carr has been learning the NFL game for 3 seasons...

Dak>Carr

I dont know if want cooper over bryant, because they have different strengths and play in different offenses.
but Cooper is really good, hard to cover, quicker feet. Bryant when healthy and used is a monster.
