@Melonfeud

I saw your post about the water moccasin.

They are gorgoues creatures.
They are kinda but I'm not really a snake person, I feel bad when I see them roadkilled(I feel bad for all them road killed critters)
As long as there 10+ foot away from me ,we're good!
,,,ha! One time when we were little kids my sisters and I walked down over a hill to where an old oil well was pumping and there was a 4x8 plywood sheet on the ground just black and hard baked as the surrounding well head area gets after 15-20 years of pulling rod amd tubing, anyway there was about a 5-6 foot snake laying on it sunning itself,,, it raised up like a cobra about 2 foot off the ground, then went into pursuit mode and started chasing us FAST!(LOL) the girls started screaming and running away and well,,,I was probably running away and screaming right along with them:lmao::lmao2::lmao:
That sucker was fast and he prolly chased us 20-30'
:facepalm:( no idea what kind it was at 6-7 years old)

That is mamba behavior. Interesting. Hmm. Maybe an Eastern Diamondback? They have a variety of hues depending on their environment.

Generally, non-poisonous snakes will lay off after their threat display (the bowing up you described, brother). But poisonous species will chase, knowing they have buck behind the bite.

Still, even the most aggressive species stop after a while. Except the black (not green, green is way more docile, yet probably more venomous) mamba. The B mamba will chase your arse till it's good and ready to stop. It can hit speeds of 10mph+, too.

Incredible creature.

I really, really would love to know what species chased y'all.

The water moccasin is a killer... ill-tempered, incredibly venomous (as per LD50), and occasionally eats fish. Fascinating and gorgeous species, Melon, brother.

That 2 footer could've easily wiped you out.

Reminds me of my very first scuba trip in the Caymans back in 1988. I just graduated High School and my parents took me there for a gift.

Well, I was a cocky young guy who thought he was Jaques Cousteau! I was about 40' deep and found a green moray eel. I thought it would be fun to tease it. Long story short, that sucker chased me to the top, surprised I didn't get the bends :laugh:

Yeah, he set me straight that night. Sometimes reliving the old days is not a good thing.
:lmao::lmao2::lmao:
Nothing wrong with it coach!
But I'm certain I'm not the only one around here with a good amount of 'Missouri' in them,, and I've tangled with 6'4"+ sized dudes before, a wrong/ missed move on team melons end and it's like PT Barnum and Bailey's main circus tent collapsing on top of him:lmao:

Holy ****!! The Moray would've been the least of your problems had you got the bends!!! :omg::omg:

Moray eels are generally more ugly than dangerous. You could've killed yourself without decompressing, Dex!

I'd fight and bite and claw for you, brother!!! :star::starspin:

Yea, I have done some dumb stuff diving as a youngster. Have been down 200ft+ on regular gas and one tank, got lost in the Yucatan caves, surfaced and descended too fast. I have never had a problem medically which is surprising looking back.

The older I got, the more safety precautions came louder and clearer.
