The Giants OL is still pretty bad

20 points wins it week one. We should be able to do that right? I mean, the Giants defense is very good, but they're not the better than Denver, KC, or Carolina, in my opinion. We were actually able to run the ball fairly decent against them last year and besides Vernon and JPP, where is their pressure coming from without having to blitz? Honest question.

If we can get some good Secondary play and make Eli hold on to the ball for 1/2 a sec longer maybe we can get more hits on him.
True but given the overall experience and talent of their receiving core, that's going to be a tall order.

The Giants one struggled with stunts from the d line.

They have struggled with it for three years now.

Hopefully someone looks at the tape and we actually do it.

There is a reason the Giants continue to not address their offensive line in a meaningful way. They don't because at the end of the day to run the type of attack they run they simply don't need an offensive line the way the Cowboys do to run their offense. They don't need a good offensive line because their offense is predicated on getting rid of the ball quickly and allowing their skill position players to make up for the lack of deep throws with their ability to get yards after the catch.

So, according what you said, ranking 25th in yards, 26th in points scored, 28th in 3rd down conversions, 30th in yard per carry, 26th in yards per passing attempt, and 29th in Time of possession last season was something their offense meant to do and not a byproduct of a poor offensive line?

Good then I hope the continue to not address the offensive line in a meaningful way because it sure seems to be working for them.

The problem is, it may require CBs able to jam at the line to throw off the passing timing but I don't think we have the personnel to play that scheme.

For every scheme that various coaches use across the league, different positions carry different weighting. From the outside looking in, it appears as though the Giants don't place as much emphasis on building a great offensive line as the Cowboys have...obviously. There focus has been on their defense and it shows.

We actually had these same conversations last year in regards to the Giants in the week leading up to playing them. The offensive line was bad, but it didn't seem to matter because Eli was always able to get rid of the ball before are passrush could get home. Both games last year were relatively low scoring affairs which tells me stopping the Giants offense really isn't the problem. It's figuring out how to score on them that was the issue from my point of view.

Our defense holds the giants offense

Their defense stops our offense

None of that makes any sense. Our defense is trash and our offense is too potent. Those games are strange as hell.

Watching the Giants last night, it is obvious that their OL issues have not been addressed.
They will definitely have to depend on short quick passes to make up for their deficiencies/inability to establish a running game.
Their tackles are still very questionable so hopefully we can get some good pressure on Eli.
It's a shame that we won't have Demontre Moore available because his speed off the edge would be very helpful.
The Giants D still looks Bad Arse so they will need them to generate turnovers in order to help the offense.
I been saying this since FA started and this forum thought signing and drafting WRs was the answer. This forum was posting Giants/Eagles threads about how improved they were and Dallas is declining. If you cant block you cant win. Plain and simple.

I specifically wanted to see how Flowers did vs Garrett if they lined up against each other..

Garrett was pushing Flowers around. Eli bailed out Flowers a few times by getting rid of the ball very quick.

But when it came to their Run blocking, it was woeful.

I thought the same thing last year when their OL looked bad in pre-season. But for some reason they looked decent against us in the first game. So who knows. Maybe our DL with new players can do better this time around.

Expect some domestic violence complaints to be lodged by the Giants against whomever is lined up over Ereck Flowers and Bobby Hart this year.
Bwahahahahaha...nominated for best post of the day!

They Giants defense is good but not great. Our problem is we play right into the strength of their defense. When we play the Giants we seem to get conservative and bring in extra blockers for max protect. Then we run those pass plays that are long and winding, allowing the Giants to get to Dak.

We should spread it out with 5 receiver sets. Run shorter routes with more 3 step drops.

I'd like to go out there and spread 'em out wide, 4 wide, some 5 wide and I'd go no huddle with the Giants having big Snacks and the DT Tomlinson they drafted (both are around 325-350 I think) stuck on the field without being able to get any rest. I would look to wear those big fellas out early and often and like you said I'd look to call some quicker pass plays to take advantage of guys like bease and switzer.

Yes this would be my 2 cents of a plan. Their defense was built to stop our offense. Mainly stopping the run up the middle and containing Bryant. I'd like to see something different when playing the Giants and an up tempo quick passing attacking might do.
