The Giants OL is still pretty bad

Watching the Giants last night, it is obvious that their OL issues have not been addressed.
They will definitely have to depend on short quick passes to make up for their deficiencies/inability to establish a running game.
Their tackles are still very questionable so hopefully we can get some good pressure on Eli.
It's a shame that we won't have Demontre Moore available because his speed off the edge would be very helpful.
The Giants D still looks Bad Arse so they will need them to generate turnovers in order to help the offense.

If we can't get pressure on Manning in that first game, even with our suspensions, we have some pass rush issues.

Flowers looks like he hasn't improved at all.

They will continue not be able to run. The right side of the line looks like a major weakness.

I'm not worried at all about the giants in terms of taking the division. I think they can play with most teams 1v1 but over the course of 16 games they are really counting on that defense to be the best in the league again. Even if that does happen Eli is in regression, and their run game is non existent.

Didn't one of their OL also get charged with DV....but I am sure they won't take a year to say no suspension. He will be cleared by week one.
And he was actually charged by the police I believe. Not just accused.

Backup guy IIRC

Bowie is the OL for the Giants that has been accused of DV. He's a third string OT who likely wasn't going to make the team.

So the league will probably throw the book at him for the Giants because he's expendable.

I didn't watch much of the game, but what I did see let me with the impression that we should be able to pressure Eli right up the middle. Here's hoping Collins and Para have a field day.

Eli gets rid of the ball faster than almost all other NFL QBs. It's his OC's philosophy.

Preseason games. Mean. Nothing.

Generally, yes............ but if your OL is struggling in preseason that's never a good sign. I mean contrast that with us.

Regardless of the mix of OL we've used, we've showed that as long as you have Martin and/or Frederick and/or Smith in there, we've been able to effectively block while we try other guys out at various positions.

The Giants are basically using their starting OL and are getting mauled.

They probably will struggle running the ball against the Cowboys, but we rarely get much pressure against Manning. He gets rid of the ball pretty quick and doesn't give the line much of a chance.

By the way, that what Prescott needs to do against the d-line. They looked very good last night.

Our lines are the mirror image of the Giants: strong o-line and weak d-line.

There is a reason the Giants continue to not address their offensive line in a meaningful way. They don't because at the end of the day to run the type of attack they run they simply don't need an offensive line the way the Cowboys do to run their offense. They don't need a good offensive line because their offense is predicated on getting rid of the ball quickly and allowing their skill position players to make up for the lack of deep throws with their ability to get yards after the catch.

And while they may not put up a whole lot of points in a game as a result, with that defense, they really don't have to. You could add both Kalil Mack and Aaron Donald to our current lineup and it still wouldn't make that much of a difference against the Giants. Because, again, Eli will get rid of that ball within about 3 seconds of taking the snap; that, in particular, is how they nullified our attack in both meetings last year.

Been saying this all along, this isn't new news. For the 1,000th time, their offensive line will make our defense look like pro bowlers. Expect Taco to have a big night.

If we can get some good Secondary play and make Eli hold on to the ball for 1/2 a sec longer maybe we can get more hits on him.
