Kaepernick personal sacrifice for a cause reminds me of Muhammad Ali who placed his career and freedom in jeopardy. And of course the more polarizing image of the two athletes holding up their arms in black gloves during the National Anthem of the Gold Medal ceremonies at the 1968 Summer Olympics.Thats an image which has stuck with me since I was a teenager.

If these protest continues to gain traction which its appearing to do with more Stars joining like half of the Browns team in last game it will gain more attention and eventually force the NFL to a more decisive adjustment or threaten to lose viewers if it doesn't just fade away as they had hoped .

With the tensions mounting in mainstream it's difficult seeing this just fading away soon especially with the activist getting involved as depicted yesterday outside the NFL headquarters. Goodells decision which of course represents the NFL decision is to support these players rights despite our personal differences which is legally the right decision despite the bashing he and the league will continue to receive .

The gutless NFL needs to put an end to this non sense. No protests of any kind while wearing team uniforms and using the NFL stage as their platform. Put huge fines on the offenders. Make them pay money for thier actions and that will be the end of it.

Good - I was originally annoyed by the distraction he caused with kneeling, but have come to see his cause is right. Especially the events in the past few weeks have shown this country has some deeply racist elements alive and well. Then there is the more subtle racism that I and millions of others don't experience.

They can't . It would open up civil law suits.

Right which is probably fueling the growing interest and support.

We could certainly use a better backup QB . And one with Super Bowl experience.

People can protest but I don't think any NFL team is ready to take on this distraction.

The people protesting are not NFL fans ....... they are just professional protesters (yes that is a well paid career here in 2017)

Personally, I have no issue with Kaepernick protesting the way he did. It was peaceful. Isn't that what you want in a protest (rhetorical question, one side is going to be butt hurt any way)?

But the NFL is a business. Teams may not want to risk sponsorships, ad revenue, fans, etc over the way he protested. And he isn't some transcendent talent where he will move the needle enough to take on the risk. So if a team doesn't want to risk that, they are under no obligation to do so. (Now, the other side is butt hurt)

Crystallized rain everywhere.

What if we see more teams with players protesting as we already have they all might have to deal with it.

Half of the Browns protested in their last game.

Kap was just the first .
