Anyone else find it alarming Cooper has not seized the LG spot despite being healthy the whole offseason?

I didn't have a lot of hope, but scouting reports on him indicated he pretty much was at least average, and I don't think he has done anything to doubt that. I honestly can't understand why the Cowboys keep pushing for Green. He can't be counted on to play though pain and he has looked awful at G. He looks like a good swing T and probably is not suited to the regular pounding of a full time spot.

He has had his troubles since joining the league.

So no, it is not concerning.

What is concerning is Chazzy boy being part of our process.

Cooper outplayed Green but Cooper wasn't our draft pick.....Green was

That's just dumb imo. best guy plays first. Doesn't matter who it is. Either a 1st round pick is a 35 year old vet. You field the best team possible. Always hated that progress stopper b.s. on here.

Not really. Cooper hasn't been bad when he's been in there, so it isn't like Dallas will be putting in a Pat McQuistan if Green can't go. The team just appears to feel that Green is better, so if he's able to go, why not play the better player?

If Cooper starts, there are a couple of things I'm concerned about, but I think he'll be OK and might even be better than that if my concerns don't show up.

No.

There are two comparable players there. One of them will get the start. The coach wants the competition to spill into game week, and fans are looking for stuff to worry about. Pretty much business as usual.

The Cowboys acquired him but they drafted Chaz. Chaz is better suitef at T, but T Smith and La'el Collins are better options at this position.

Issue: I believe Cooper is a natural G than Chaz is and is finally healthy. Solution: make Chaz the swing T. But it seems like the coaching staff kerpd insisting that Chaz is their solution at G. I don't get it, because do they really think Chaz will hold up vs the front 7s of Giants, Broncos, and Cardinals? And that's just our first 3 games.

Chaz is clearly the better player. Without the injuries he'd start for just about any team in the league.

Odd situation with swing T if he's starting. Either Bell is active as swing or we sit Bell and he's playing RG but moves if he's got to go to tackle. I expect if we lost someone for a couple of weeks at T, Chaz would slide out but it might not be ideal in game.
