Anyone else find it alarming Jonathan Cooper has not seized the LG spot?

We put way too much faith in a guy who got cut by the Browns.

Green is clearly the better player with more talent, but can't stay healthy.

Cooper is on his 4th team and has been average, so no I'm not surprised. If anything I expected it. Someone had this fantasy of him being the same guy who was coming out of the draft. He clearly isn't.

Last I looked the Browns repeatedly cut players for no good reason...Heck...they have cut so many people in the last 3 years...you could literally fill another team.

I thought they both looked serviceable in preseason, even if Green is slightly better they should just let Cooper start. Cooper can improve and Green can contribute best in a limited role. Alarmed? No. Cooper is like the Mo Claiborne of offensive linemen,,, missing time and only incrementally improving.

Not with his history thus far. Kind of expected it.

Close thread. He is what he is.

Smith Craigslist Frederick Martin Collins

Your starting OL this year. Wise move to let Leary walk and rely on rejects to fill in.

I don't know where the team's stubbornness comes from on this one. The best this offense looked the entire preseason was with Cooper at left guard, never during a cameo appearance from Glazz Green. Why there is a debate about it is beyond me.

This looks almost as dumb as letting Kellen Moore continue to steal checks.

Who is Craig Slist? Did we acquire a new player today?

We let him walk and he,ran, away no way he would have resigned here unless we.made him the highest paid lg in the league.

Okay, we put way too much faith in a guy who was cut by the Patriots. If you get cut by the best team in the league and the worst team in the league you're probably not very good.

The fact that the LG position is unsettled a week before the opening is a little unsettling. I dont care for any of the options currently (Green, Cooper, or Looney). Chaz lasting any length of time before heading down the tunnel is a pipe dream IMO.

You tag him.

If they think they can win a title this year then you make that move. It makes no sense to weaken your greatest strength in a year where you think you can contend. They could have actually improved the OL this year. Instead we have a giant hole at LG with backup types as the options.

You can make the case Looney is the best option. I've always liked him. Underrated. Might be the best stopgap between two all pros for a season.

They already had their starter and Cooper asked to be released unless he could compete for starting job.....Browns weren't going to let him compete for starting job
