The greatness of Dak isn't going to be appreciated league-wide until Dak is collecting his 3rd or 4th ring in the last couple of seasons in his career.

The amount of QB's you could say that about is almost endless.

Situation plays a huge part in success.

It's hard to believe that Derek Carr is probably a top 3 QB and his older brother with the same skillset is a complete NFL bust.

whenever someone says anyone can play behind that o line all u have to say is

Weeden
Cassell
Moore
Sanchez

Romo and dak have been the only ones to show great success. Yes, that line helps a young qb a lot. But if a qb sucks...he sucks.

Philly is no different.

They think Prescott is overrated, not very accurate, can only play on a team that runs the ball 50 times a game, only throws to totally wide open guys and can't hit players on the run or fit balls into tight spaces, will turn into Brady Quinn when Elliott inevitably has to sit out 6 games, etc.
Not trying to start anything. But why do you always use Philly as a barometer or a mention when it involves the Cowboys?

Here's what separates the great QB's from the rest.

You're not going to gameplan with a focus on beating a great QB and attacking their weaknesses.

Instead, with a great QB you gameplan and attack their supporting cast.

You didn't outsmart Peyton Manning. You found ways to beat his supporting cast.

You don't outsmart Tom Brady. You find ways to beat his supporting cast.

The same goes for Aaron Rodgers.

Put Michael Jordan on a team with four scrubs, without Scottie Pippin and the players he had around him, and he wouldn't win anything either. This is the case in all team sports. This is even more true with teams that have a greater number of players, and also have different parts of the team on the field of play at different times. I don't understand the point of their argument.

It will be interesting to see Dak's play without Zeke for an extended period of time.

Sadly if each of those guys would put their egos aside they would come to the conclusion that both are making valid points and both are correct.

Dak would not be as great or good if he was on a crappy team like say the browns, I don't know of too many QBs who would be good with a crappy team. However at the same time not just any QB can step behind that line and do as good as Dak has done because we seen what happened with multiple QBs playing behind that line when Romo went down the year before we got Dak.

However I am sure if someone used their argument against them and said that Tom Brady is just an OK QB because when he has missed any games over the last few years, the Patriots have been fine and their backups have shined....therefore Tom Brady is just a System QB. You would watch them trip over themselves to defend Tom Brady and how he is the GOAT and so on.

Im going to get crucified for this. But the first half of that Giant game scared me. We ran something like 40 something plays. Dak missed a ton of open recievers. He did. Again im not the guy who knocks Dak. He has is smart and he does turn the ball over but he is not a great thrower. He is just not. I feel like he will get exposed a little bit first. However i think he is smart enough to use the teams strength which is 21 and use the paasing game off the succes of rhe run to his favor. This is not about QB rating. Because if you run the ball well than he will alawys have a high qb rating. But if that run game fails i cant see us consistently winning games. I think Dak sooner or later will be exposed. He did not olay well in the first half. He missed a ton of guys who wete open

Why is this controversial? The Cowboys did a terrific thing: they put in place the perfect situation to allow a young QB to develop to the absolute best of his ability. And Dak has thrived in that environment. Put him in Cleveland and good luck to him.

Dak's ceiling is all Dak. Being on the Cowboys puts him in a position to reach whatever that ceiling is, and that ceiling looks really really high.
What was David Carr's ceiling? I have no idea, but he never had a chance to reach it because he spent all his time running for his life behind Houston's horrible line.

You just described every NFL QB at some point. They all have bad games at times, but the good ones bounce back. Dak seems to be the real deal and I disagree that he's not a good "thrower." His passing ability fits the Cowboys offense perfectly.

Couldn't disagree with you more. Dak was extremely accurate as the season went on and he has been even better in preseason. He had an off game. I blame the coaching staff for not keeping it simple and passing too much inside the 20 and especially when you had first and goal from the three. Just run the ball. Not worried or concerned at all about Daks accuracy. Did you see Eli?
