It's such a great hobby, Idgit. And pipe collecting is a legit thing (they call it "PAD", I've come to find out -- Pipe Acquisition Disorder ).

Pipe tobacco is less robust than cigars, so I find it incredibly enjoyable to have a few bowls a day.

And it doesn't trigger my "whiskey button" the way cigars do. Now, that's not to say whiskey/scotch isn't amazing with pipe tobacco, but I haven't had a desire to drink while smoking since I stopped with liquor last Monday (previous week).
