Fox broadcaster and former Cowboy quarterback Troy Aikman suggested at one point that Dallas could be missing their old quarterback, Tony Romo, who was notorious for his big-play ability.

While it’s just the second game of the season, Prescott’s play continued a trend from last season–smart, yet conservative quarterback play. Cowboys’ head coach Jason Garrett also seemed to agree with Aikman’s notion.

“When they play that style of defense, you have to be able to consistently attack with the passing game,” Garrett said, via the Dallas Morning News. “At different times today, I thought we were able to do that, and at other times we weren’t. We didn’t make the plays, for whatever reason. We really needed to have [consistent] success throwing the ball. We were not able to do that.”

That era is over, but HELL YES!!!!!!
With that being said it is now Dak's era, and it is the beginning of the season, yes the second game for all 32 teams, no one not even the coaches know the identity of their teams are, but by the first game in October that should be a month of the season everyone will know what their team is. So those that have come out the gate fast may slow down one way or another and those that started out slow will pick up the pace and for the ones in between they will go one way or the other. We won the first game, the pats got their butts handed to them and they bounced back all be it was the saints, but they did resemble what everyone expects of the pats. We were not suppose to beat the giants but we did as I expected and some had us originally losing to the broncos some said it was because Zeke would be sitting out and some figured even with him we would lose, which we did, but after we beat the giants the sentiment changed and the struggle that the broncos had with the chargers made it seem like we would win, many did not take into consideration that the chargers and broncos always have games like that just like us and everyone in out division.
Listening to Moose and Nate this evening about Zeke they feel as I do, people made it a big deal and it was not

"Do the Dallas Cowboys miss Troy Aikman?"

"Jason Garrett throws Dak under the bus by suggesting he'd love to have Roger Staubach"

Players get old and retire. Romo's body was completely and utterly finished with its ability to survive a month of NFL competition, let alone a full season. What's the point of even revisiting it at this point? Just like he did following each poor start/stretch last season, I suspect Dak will quickly shove our doubts up our rumps.

Anyone wonder why they still have Romo's salary available on the cap? I personally think Romo is in a better place now. Far removed from another catastrophic injury.

We don't miss 8-8 seasons, and season's ending in disaster. Having said that, we shall see what Dak brings us. He's in year 2, rough start, but I'm sure he'll pull out of it. First time our line has been tested and trashed, can he overcome our oline situation? We shall see.
