Where did you go to college? College football and tailgates on Saturdays are the best. NFL doesn't compare

UT but I spent my Friday nights carousing west campus. My good friend lived next door and would drag me out to games but I never got into the scene. Might have been the hangovers.

Pro sports are so disappointing?? Money..money and no soul. Empty is how l have grown to see pro sports.
Oh no doubt. That's a lot of what got me into the Little League World Series, when it's on EPSN. It's just a bunch of kids playing a sport the way it's meant to be played. I'll watch LL through college ball over the pros any day.

Then that got me into really watching college football, and recently, HS football (which I'm watching right now).

Never seen it like that. I've seen both pro and minor league teams not play hard. Quality of play is what it boils down to me.

I just cannot stand the lack of parity in the NCAA minor leagues. That and that they run a communist system where the basketball and football teams are paid far less than they are worth to subsidize all the other sports.

You seemed to watch a minor league football team in Denver last week just fine

Sure we got whipped but last week we saw

OU beat Tulane 56-14
Penn State over Georgia State 54-0
Washington over Fresno 48-16
OSU over Army 38-7
WI over BYU 40-6

and so forth.

The quality of most NCAA games is crap.

It's around the same level of talent you see on Low A ball in MiLB. If anything Low A is more talented. Hype does nothing for me.

I played A ball in the minors and there is plenty talent there. We played for the love of the game and to get that cup of coffee. Sorry we were not all a bunch of Mike Trout's but 90% of those guys run circles on the majority of the population :D

I played for UT as well......

I'm not saying you aren't talented. I am just saying you are not as talented as MLB. Call me an elitist if you like but if I am going to spend money and time it is going to be for the highest level available.

I've hung out and partied with players for the SA AA team and the Round Rock AAA team. Bunch of cool guys but yeah you had to pay for the love of the game because for the most part you guys aren't paid jack.

FWIW, I would rather support those clubs than the NCAA. I loathe the NCAA.

As for College, my Longhorns dont play this weekend, but Im lookin forward to cheerin on TCU @ Okie St., first really good Big 12 matchup of the year...and then also Penn St-Iowa should be a really good ol fashioned Big 10 brawl...Go Frogs & Hawkeyes! (Ive never liked Penn St. for some reason, even before all the recent Sandusky stuff)
