Nah, it was annoying before that, and wasn't going away (despite what many have tried to claim).
It was starting to infiltrate youth football and you ain't seen nothing yet until the NBA starts

Part of the POTUS' interest was caused by Steph Curry running his mouth about visiting the WH...... but everyone always ignores how much disrespect and unprovoked attacks the POTUS receives daily

When he responds its "OMG how can he say such things......what about the children/hackers/Puerto Rico????"

So your argument is that we should just ignore what the president says? That is your solution?

Most of the time, that's probably a good idea, especially in this case. It's certainly what I did with most of the things the last President said.

He was commenting on what people do at a football game, not many policy implications there.

However, he did express an opinion that tens of millions of other members of the NFL's customer base happen to agree with, so the NFL might be wise to take that into account.

Given that the protest is about police policy, your comment is absurd.

Given that he didn't talk about the content of the protest, your comment is asinine.

So what? He denounced the protests as a whole. It also bears out in his policing policies through the DoJ. Back to private prisons, civil asset forfeiture, and the militarization of police.

lol

not a chance. No one is going anywhere. This obsession with TV ratings is comical, it only affects advertising prices. The numbers are still astronomical. People act as if the nfl is getting the NHL's ratings or something.

The same fans who burn players jerseys just buy news down the road and go back to enjoying the games. A bunch of loudmouth's who need attention over an issue where if they dont support the players in this matter it just shows they dont support the players at all and probably have a how should I put this?? Low opinion on the predominant race in the nfl.

I for one hope this group of extreme right wing morons do boycott the nfl and go away forever, its the best thing for everyone.

there is plenty going on in the world of cars going left for 3 hours that will make them feel right at home and keep their weekends occupied.

Well if this is the case turn to the game at 1:05 and it will be done. Grown people sounding like babies like this takes up the whole game. Heck even when I goto a game I come late to avoid all this stuff and then the games go on without a hitch the vast majority of the time. Tired of hearing about peoples escape like this stuff takes up the whole game.
And you're responding to a guy that's like 60 years old. To quote JalenRamsey (that's a old man actin like that). :lmao2:**** is PATHETIC. Like somebody is forcing them to watch the pregame/before kickoff festivities.

You know, this stuff was bothering me (I don't like the distraction from and the politicizing of football in general), but it just occurred to me that I DVR the games, anyway. Why do I even care? They can knock themselves out and I"ll just ff to the kickoff.
We both know why you care.

Direct Tv gave me full refund for the nfl package. Putting my money where my mouth is, when the NFL returns to a non political entity I will contemplate returning to it. I have no problem golfing on Sundays. Like I said before I think the marketplace should decide the fate of this politically charged league

The shame of it is that the players (useful idiots) are the stooges for groups with a political agenda

Has nothing to do with how much time it takes. It has to do with what is SUPPOSED to be happening at that time.

There are certainly other reasons for viewership being down. I wouldn't doubt there will be a dip in the ratings due to the recent controversy, but hardly anything to worry about IMO. This whole thing didn't seem to bother that many people until Trump decided to give his two cents to rile up his base.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...ulture-war-with-the-nfl-is-getting-very-real/

"In a J.D. Power survey from July, just 3 percent of NFL fans said that they were watching less football and that it was because of the protests. Among the relatively few fans who said they were watching less football (10 percent of all fans), the protests were the No. 1 reason offered, but this was not a massive swath of fans."

Technically, if it bothers you, you should watch the pre-game and stand for the anthem in your living room to offset any kneeling ;)

We both know why you care.

You're clueless on the topic and embarrassing yourself by making irresponsible suggestions. That's your prerogative. I've got no interest in an actual conversation with you anyway.

There are plenty of posters here who are both reasonable and responsible and whose opinions I respect, even if I don't agree with them. You're not one of them.
