There was a reason Dak was not drafted before the 4th round

It's not the QB. It's the OL not protecting him, not opening holes for Zeke. And its our recievers who can't get open. Dak has missed, throws, but he isn't the sole or main reason for the teams slow start. Of course you won't bring up the OL or Zeke.

--PASSING OFFENSE: D - This is on Dak Prescott and his season-long accuracy issues. He passed for 252 yards and three touchdowns. But so much more was out there for the taking. His inability to consistently connect with Dez Bryant is a bigger problem because he is no longer connecting with Cole Beasley, who led the team in receptions last year

--RUSHING OFFENSE: B - The Cowboys rushed 27 times for 189 yards. That includes a 70-yard run from Alfred Morris and 21 carries for 85 yards for Ezekiel Elliott. But if you think the Cowboys ran effectively enough to win the game then you missed the third quarter when they had three straight three-and-outs. It's still mind-boggling that Ryan Switzer got a carry from backfield.

The inaccuracy is off the charts this season. Whatever he did to his mechanics this off-season, he needs to forget it and go back to whatever he was doing last year.
Last year Dak checked down quite a bit and only threw long when called upon. This year he's looking for longer passes as first, 2nd and third options.

If Switzer doesn't give the rams a free 7 points, we win that game. Ditto if Tyrone Crawford picks up a fumble that is right in front of him.
You mean if Rams didn't let Morris go 70 yds or hold on to 1-2 easy INTs that Dak threw, allow Dak to look like Romo.
We can do this all day.

We lost because both sides of our lines lost.

And its NOT on TSmith, Frederick or Martin playing like crap? Its not on the wide recievers not getting open to help Dak?

- RUSHING OFFENSE ZEKE F+ - ZEKE averaging 3.6 ypc. Why don't you mention that?

Geez some of you guys expect him to be an elite pocket passer in just his second season? How long did it take Brady, Rodgers, Ryan, (whoever you want to throw in there) to become a well polished NFL quarterback? Surely not after 1 season!

Dak was not drafted before the 4 th round

he is not accurate - has no touch on his passed

http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/dak-prescott?id=2555260

Weaknesses Beat up this year thanks to poor protection. When he wasn't being sacked, he was being hit hard. Not as competitive a rusher in 2015. Sacks and usage in run game might be taking a toll. Increase in short pass attempts from 86 to 208 this year reason for higher completion numbers. Accuracy on intermediate and deep throws dropped sharply. Pocket poise has been compromised. Hyper aware of pressure around him and lacks awareness to slide and find temporary shelter to make throw. Concern over pressure too often trumps ability to get through progressions. Must speed up the pace of his reads. Footwork is a mess. Slight stride onto stiff upper leg with little weight shift. Restricted follow through and too often tries to muscle throws with upper body. Throws to target rather than leading or throwing them open on short/intermediate throws. Too respectful of underneath coverage and must be more willing to challenge the defense. Needs to improve anticipation.

NFL Comparison Brett Hundley

Bottom Line Hard to find an NFL comp for Prescott because he's built like Donovan McNabb, but lacks McNabb's ability and polish. Prescott has NFL size, mobility and enough arm, but the tape shows a player who must improve his mechanics, poise and quickness through his progressions if he is to become a full-time starter in the NFL. There are absolutely draftable traits and upside, but he will need extended work to smooth out his flaws. Until then, a team would be wise to utilize him on short-yardage packages
Lot more exciting than the old man Romo. Dak, with Kingsberry calling the plays next year, will get a possession man for Dak. Dez is secondary. Fireworks ensue, Mateys!
Dak is just beginning!

What a clear cut, stone cold example of Bodi gonna Bodi.

What can Prescott do regarding his throwing accuracy? There were many throws yesterday, especially late in the game, where throws were off and ended drives. That can be the difference between winning and losing. It's one of the most important aspects of quarterback play. He must get better in this area.

David: I actually asked Dak about this on Sunday evening, and he said his best bet was simply to take more reps. Honestly, it’s a pretty tough question to answer. It’s obvious that he’s had some issues throwing the ball accurately – but we also know he’s done plenty of work on this over the last six months. My best guess is that a lot of his innacurate throws could be fixed by simply taking a deep breath and making sure his mechanics are right during the heat of the moment.

Rob: I believe we’ve seen Dak face more pocket pressure in these first four games than he did overall last season. Any quarterback is typically more accurate when he has a cleaner pocket. He still did a good job making plays with his feet at times, particularly the sack he spun out of when he found Dez while rolling to his left. But the Rams were effective, for the most part, keeping him contained in the pocket. As we saw at Arizona, he’s at his best when he’s making throws on the move.

all the rest of the NFL can see that DAK is not good under presser

so they will keep 7 - 8 men in the box until Dak can prove he can best them with out Zeke running 150 yards a game

stop our run game
stop our team

I think he’s improved, but yes some of those traits are pretty evident. What’s concerning is that even if he’s throwing shorter passes now why isn’t Beasley involved?
Do people even watch the game, or are they just going off perception?

Dak isn't throwing the ball shorter. If anything, he's trying to force it too much

He's not accurate? Did you watch him last season?
