Put it this way. W3 need to draft a linebacker so bad it hurts
And guess what. Right now it doesn't look like there is 1 worthy if a too 15 pick(a 4-3 one)
2014 Draft. Zack Martin is a great OL but damn if the Steelers hadn't taken Shazier one pick before. With the power of hindsight, CJ Mosley may have been worth it over Martin too. It's a lot easier to find a serviceable OL elsewhere (ex: Kyle Kosier, Ron Leary) than it is to find a stud LB.

We needed to pick up a Free Agent MIKE who could start right away to not force Hitchens into having to start at the MIKE and allow Jaylon to grow into the position.
The problem with Foster was his attitude. Different story in Dallas where the press kills the team for having anybody with a controversial background.
YR
History shows the spotlight this team plays with will not allow players like him to succeed here.
Or Bobby Wagner in round 2 that year...someone made a thread about it a week or so ago, but dang if that draft didn't set us back and continue to haunt us a bitDallas likely doesn't go 12-4 and ever establish a run heavy identity that has lead to decent success if we don't draft Martin.
Weird guy to pick a LBer over when we could have taken Kuechly instead of Claiborne.
Like who?
Rand Gregory, Greg Hardy, Terrell Owens, Pacman Jones come to mind.
But better yet, outside of Dez what character risk/OTF baggage player have we taken that's panned out for us? (Since the 90s)
None of those guys left because of the spotlight. TO and McClain played some really good football for us.
I'm not saying they left because of the spotlight.
I'm saying whatever character flaw a player has, it's exacerbated with the celebrity that accompanies being a cowboy.
You can't fly under the radar here.
Tell me what flying under the radar would have done for any of those guys. You said the spotlight wouldn't allow those guys to play here. In what way did the spotlight play a role in any of them leaving or not playing up to expectations?
