If Dallas can’t find a way to sing Bowman, then the FO really doesn’t care about competing this year. Rarely do you find a player like Bowman come free that addresses probably the biggest weakness on defense.

Well you have to be careful because Bowman may not want to play here and he may want to be a Raider. Playing for the Raiders makes a lot of sense for him.He may not want to have to pick up and move all the way to Texas. The more I read the more I think we may be being used as leverage. It will become evident if he never makes it to Dallas.

Im kind of confused with this raiders thing. I keep reading how sf dumped him because he can't run and can't play in the middle in the seattle defense they are now playing and B because they drafted foster to play this spot.

so if this is true A. Why would Oakland want him since they run the identical defense and do not have as good talent on the line in front of him as SF does and B why would oakland want him to play MLB if he can't run?

Oakland just wants a name. A attempt to looking like they are doing something. Carr probably had no business out there playing yesterday....I thought at best he was done for a few weeks....they are trying to do whatever they can salvage this season. I hope this isn't the moment we look back and wonder what happened to Carr.

Can't object to the C'boys trying Bowman to see what he's got left.

They could always bid him adieu if he doesn't measure up.

Yes I have, and it took me 10 seconds to do an analysis. Bowman is better than all the scrubs we have not named SEAN LEE.

Well that's whatI would expect, but I mean have you really watched him play?

Has anyone done an in depth study of how Bowman has played this year? What does he have left?
There have been a number of articles written about his play this year.

Is he an All Pro wrecking machine like he was three years ago? No. But he is still played at a quality level which is infinitely better than what we are getting from any of our LBers outside of Lee.

If someone dismisses him because they think he has lost something, they need to take a look at Durant and rethink what a washed up veteran looks like out there.

I guess I am hoping for a quantification of his current skill set based on in depth film review from some of the gurus on this site. They are usually pretty close on their take.

I appreciate your post Alexander. It sounds like you and I are thinking the same thing.

I am curious how they view Jaylon. Would Bowman be deemed a progress stopper on Jaylon? How close do they think Jaylon is to getting himself to acceptable form?

I think most agree Jaylon isn't getting it done right now, but only the coaching staff know whether they think he is improving physically and mentally enough to wait on him, especially with Hitchens coming back.

I don't see how you can look at Bowman as a "progress stopper". It is giving them a better chance to win than marching Smith out there week after week and hope the light goes on. He is making as many mental errors as he is physical ones and that is the concern.

If they continue this idea that veterans only "stop progress" for young players, they had better be right on every single projection they have for these players.

It is a disturbing mindset that appears to become an ongoing train of thought that goes above and beyond properly evaluating each situation individually.

Veterans are valuable and can bring things to the table, yet we avoid them like the plague for the most part unless the coaches "know" them.

If opportunities like this are ignored, it basically tells me the team lacks the ability to be critical of their own talent and the current state of the team.

If Bowman isn't signed by this evening then that means he is flying to Dallas and will most likely be a Cowboy. I can't find any news on when he is expected to meet with Oakland today.

IMO, he is visiting Oakland first since he lives that way. I don’t think it’s a preference of them over us. If he makes it here, he’s going to sign

From the looks of it, he’s visiting both today

He is supposed to visit with them today, with plans for Dallas tomorrow. At least from what has been Tweeted about it.

I'm about to tweet him, and tell him about the great food, great women, and fast cars we have here in Texas! This should help. Not to mention, no state tax!

I think it's painfully obvious that Jaylon is a season away. I'm not sure if he'll even be OK then.

The word at the Star is that he will likely sign with the Raiders to keep his family from having to move.
Most likely he's using Dallas visit to leverage his money with Oakland. Bryan says he can still play
the run well but, he can run and play the pass. He's zone only in the passing game.

Save it bro. The Cowboy's have been reduce to nothing. Used as barging pieces.
