Not necessarily disagreeing, I just don't believe that teams will sell out nearly as much as they would if Elliott were available.

The Broncos' strategy, for example, was to load up on Elliott and make us pass. I think teams will probably do that early, but Garrett & Co. will be going empty set with the quickness once the run proves not as effective. I just don't see Dallas having the nerve to stick with it for long like they would with Elliott available. If Prescott is not up to the task and we don't have some new wrinkles it could get very ugly.

Let's be honest, Linehan bailed on the run enough when Elliott was available. I can't imagine he wouldn't be even quicker to abandon it with lesser running backs.

What's it going to be then, eh?

First down, hand off to Morris, quick pick up of three. Gang tackled after a short gain. 2nd and 7, empty backfield for Dak, Witten in the slot---

Like Awuzie and Lewis and Woods? Like all three, but its too early to call anyone injury prone.

But as far as Taco are you impressed with anything the kid has done? Give me both King the LB that SF took, or Watt. And hindsight? I was saying the same things right after the draft. You can go back and check.

This is the latest defense from the apologist camp. That people are just saying this in hindsight as if people weren't saying similar things around the draft.

Frankly, I recall Taco not exactly being a wildly popular pick.

Meanwhile, we sign Paea and Nolan Carroll and make no trades. And reach for guys like Taco...
Those FA signings were bandaid guys only. Not meant to long term. Those FA's were signed to cheap deals to cover until the suspended players returned and rooks got experience. Signing high priced FA's would have been incredibly stupid. The Cowboys did the right thing buy putting a cheap bandage in place until everyone came back. Mercenaires are all they were.

Taco wasn't a reach. A lot of mocks had him in the top 20.

I disagree that teams will just drop back and let the Cowboys offense run all over them. They will load up the boxes and force Dak to beat the, it would be a mistake to try to pass the ball 35+ times knowing that Zeke is not Tom Brady/Aaron Rogers.

Brady is ok at the QB sneak, but he can't run outside like Zeke.

Its definitely fair to criticize this organization, but you never stop. You go on and on and on.... What exactly is your objective? Do you look in the mirror and puff out your chest, and say something like I sure put those homer Cowboy fans on the zone in their place? Maybe you, @stasheroo, @Alexander, and other disgruntled Cowboys can make up some signs and go picket over at the Star in Frisco and demand Jerry sell the team or something.

Because this is what sports message boards are for.

For people to ***** a lot and other people to blow smoke up the franchise's butt and cover for them against most criticism, which you and others do.

That's kind of how sports fandom works. You are annoyed by the complaining and others are annoyed by the constant excuse making and covering for the franchise.

That's how all of this is supposed to work.

See, maybe they should bring in a FA or two that actually can help them win instead of just be crappy band aids.

And no, Carroll and Paea were not band aids no matter how many times you guys want to try to float that idea.

Who is the up and coming, stud 1 Tech that Paea just had to band aid for a couple of games? He was brought in to be the starting 1 Tech.

They doggedly chased Carroll for two off seasons and gave him a contract with a cap hit in 2018. Yeah, not a band aid. They actually thought he could play.

I dont know. I'm not a homer by your definition. I still feel we dont have the defense to win a SB but...
The "homers" around here are really no sadder than the segment of depressed fans that have turned their hatred inward on themselves.

At least the homers seem to be optimistic and enjoying the ride.
You depressed self hating fans just seem a bit more sad....from my perspective.
I Hope you understand, RONYX, that should I ever refer to the "S troop" in disparaging terms after the wheels come off Philly's radio flyer little red wagon here shortly, that I'm not talking about you and several other highly esteemed members whose casing-liner's start with an 'S'.

The Eagles have 3 -4th round picks in in 2018. What an amazing deal even if he sucks, which he shouldn't.

We've won 4, even lesser deal.

Right, but WE are the reigning division champs and have at least proven in recent years that we can play good football after November.

The Eagles have not.

Hence, my decision to hold off on crowning them or making any declarations about who's passed who by.

They've won 7 games. They deserve whatever credit is appropriate for winning 7 games at this point in the season.

they are active but I dont think they are any better.

They have to make all these moves because they drafted poorly. Dallas is a home grown team and Philly is filling in gaps where they missed in the draft. WR, RB, S, CB.

They are a good team and the games will be a challenge.

I dont think Dallas will lay down for them.
Nailed it. The Eagles number 1 WR a year ago is a 3 guy. They desperately needed an infusion of talent there. Hence the Alshon/torrie signings.

We both did what we did to bring in our franchise QB. The Eagles went all in for Wetz and we kind of lucked out with Dak. Then again we loved him throughout the draft process.

Buuut...we totally failed this off-season. No question.

I think the answer is in between both sides of each argument.

I was just thinking we needed another one of those threads where you leave battered and confused covered in a mixture of sperm and Eagles feathers and have to wonder what the hell happened in there.
Oh, Man! :lmao: I've a pretty good killer headache already from falling off the couch laughing earlier and it saddens me bitterly that I cannot truly enjoy this hilariously original masterpiece of humor I've stumbled upon in all it's solid gold casing-liner:thumbup:

( I've done put 4 posting hacks on ignore today and that's really not my style,,,maybe somebody could remind me later who they areo_O)

Btw we were looking for a future, developmental QB. Philly was looking for a day 1, franchise QB.

Fortunately for us, Dak was way ahead of the learning curve. And yes. Risenstar. Wentz is a better pure passer and athlete. Why can't you just root for another impressive, young QB on your own squad?

Over the next three years we will have Martin, Dak, Zeke, Lawrence and Irving all needing new contracts. If we keep them, those 5 alone will eat up roughly 20-25% of our available cap space.
Kinda sad D.Lawrence shows up to exhibit effort in a contract year

The same front office that hired Chip Kelly, and allowed so many dumb moves to be made, that they were plastered on every sports channel for their stupidity.

Meanwhile, we complained about spending big bucks on our old guys, signing T.O., trading for Roy Williams, signing Hardy, Ro Mac, not drafting well etc... We stopped doing all of the above, and started drafting well, coaching young players, and we're still not happy?

D Law, Irving, Dak, and Zeke were all brilliant moves by the front office just to name a few. I'm not calling Taco a bust on his rookie year. Give the big guy some time. I'll be searching for this thread when the eagles lose the division.
Hey,BUDDY!,,,:lmao:

How you been?,,, fantabulous post by the way,,, you tell'em,,, I liked RO-MAC btwo_O
