Ok the deal with it part of my post is light hearted.

I think it may help to face some uncomfortable truths in times like these.
We are not unique in our disgust for how our team keeps letting us down my fellow cowboys fans.

Let's take a look at the reality of what parity has done to the NFL.

The Eagles were 7-9 last season. This year 8-1.
The Giants were 11-5 last season. This year 1-8.
The Rams were 4-12 last season. This year 7-2.
The Vikings were 8-8 last season. This year 7-2.
The Saints were 7-9 last season. This year 7-2.
The Panthers were 6-10 last season. This year 6-3.
The Falcons were 11-5 last season. This year 5-4.
The Jags were 3-13 last season. This year 6-3.
The Raiders were 12-4 last season. This year 4-5.
We were 13-3 last season. This year 5-4.

I may have missed a couple. But this wild swing from one year to the next is the reality for 10 teams so far this year. These are not just a couple of games here or there but huge swings from really good to really bad or really bad to really good. It was only a season ago that we were on the up swing of a similar scenario.

This is just the reality of the modern day NFL. I personally think it sucks and keeps the star power down in the league.
What we are experiencing is the new normal unfortunately.

The new NFL sucks. The commissioner and his referees are a joke and the games are so complicated by idiotic rule interpretations that it has ceased being a game and it is far from noun to watch. I am just happy players like Dandy Don are not alive to see this travesty.

Agreed. What sucks about parity is that the refs become an even bigger part of the games outcome. When every team is pretty much the same a call or 2 can throw the balance of the game to the other side.

Yep. I am slowly becoming more of an NCAA fan. While the college game has less talent, the product is far more enjoyable.

Or constant non calls. Saw it posted elsewhere but now 6 games in a row with no holding by other team ?....

All I see is one giant excuse for another crappy performance by the team and this coaching staff.

This is more than just parity, it is the new practice rules from the last CBA.

The level of play has been on the decline every year since.

True, but everyone one of those teams have been to conference championships or Superbowls since we last did.
The fact that The Cowboys have been worse than all those teams for the better part of 25 years sucks!!! At least those teams get to experience it once in a while.

I think you don't know what parity is. Neither last season or this season are examples of parity. Parity would be if everyone ended up 8-8 give or take a game.

And in this Modern Day NFL where so many different teams can make the Super Bowl, the Cowboys still can't even come close in 20 years. The Falcons, Panthers, Ravens, Seahawks, Packers, and Giants have managed to go to the Super Bowl multiple times in different eras within that span and we're still trying to find a way to make it to the NFC Championship.

I've thought for a long time that the bad calls are mostly to keep the scores close, which keeps people watching and keeps the advertising revenue rolling into the league. Look at it next time, most of the times you see a really bad call it is to keep one team from pulling away and the net effect of the call is to keep the game close.

I think I do. Parity isn’t as simple as everyone’s record at the end. Parity means every team is once a small margin better or worse then everyone else. This is why 10 teams records have completely flipped flopped in only 1season. In a league full of parity you don’t need to rebuild to drastically improve your record...this is the result of parity.

That’s all I read.
Of course it is.
I present the facts and show that our situation isn’t unique.
Look the top teams in the NFC are the eagles, Vikings, Saints and Rams.
4 teams that didn’t even sniff the playoffs last season. This isn’t an excuse. It’s a fact.

I’m still not seeing the excuse?
I’m seeing the reality of today’s NFL. It’s not even debatable really. The facts are presented.

Parity is here for the most part. Coaching is what separates it and we don't have that :(
