We will never go anywhere with our current coaches
Or owner/GM...
We will never go anywhere with our current coaches
Wrong. You are making up your own meaning to the word. Parity is a state of equality between two or more things. The 32 teams in the NFL are never equal. Some years one team is good, the next year another team is good. It's not parity at all, the power in the NFL is in constant flux. The examples you gave describes chaos not parity. When there is a lack of consistency like you described from one season to the next, it's not parity at all.I think I do. Parity isn’t as simple as everyone’s record at the end. Parity means every team is once a small margin better or worse then everyone else. This is why 10 teams records have completely flipped flopped in only 1season. In a league full of parity you don’t need to rebuild to drastically improve your record...this is the result of parity.
Wrong again.Wrong. You are making up your own meaning to the word. Parity is a state of equality between two or more things. The 32 teams in the NFL are never equal. This x 1000!True, but everyone one of those teams have been to conference championships or Superbowls since we last did.
The fact that The Cowboys have been worse than all those teams for the better part of 25 years sucks!!! At least those teams get to experience it once in a while.
I think this is a major part of it. Some teams violate the padded practice rule (Seattle, Pittsburgh) and hope they don't get caught. I remember a few years ago Ryan Clark formally of the Steelers said when he was the players' rep and they practiced tackling in pads all the time and there was no way HE was reporting it to the union. This is more than just parity, it is the new practice rules from the last CBA.
The level of play has been on the decline every year since.
Wrong again.
Read your own definition of parity. You want to only use record and ignore everything else. When 10 teams are dramatically better or worse record wise in less than a year you should be intelligent enough to see that the reality is almost every team is equal.
The Saints got a new coaching staff and are winning in the healthy player lottery. The Raiders are worse because the fat kid from Little Giants who kept a sandwich in his helmet could cover TE’s better than any defensive player on the current roster.Unless you believe that the saints are just suddenly drastically better ecause Brees wasn’t trying last year. Or you believe the raiders suddenly got worse because of adding Marshawn Lynch.
LOL, making this argument personal? Yeah I guess so because you are not winning the intellectual argument. If only you were smart enough to crack open a dictionary to look up that actual definition of the word "parity". It's not my interpretation of the word that I'm defending. You think you are arguing with me? No, you are attempting to contradict the Merriam-Webster dictionary.Or you can just use your interpretation of parity which allows you to be angry while wiping the drool from your mouth. Don’t think below the surface my man. What you find may scare you.
I think we’ve been dealing with it since about the mid-late 90’s, unfortunately.Ok the deal with it part of my post is light hearted.
I think it may help to face some uncomfortable truths in times like these.
We are not unique in our disgust for how our team keeps letting us down my fellow cowboys fans.
Let's take a look at the reality of what parity has done to the NFL.
The Eagles were 7-9 last season. This year 8-1.
The Giants were 11-5 last season. This year 1-8.
The Rams were 4-12 last season. This year 7-2.
The Vikings were 8-8 last season. This year 7-2.
The Saints were 7-9 last season. This year 7-2.
The Panthers were 6-10 last season. This year 6-3.
The Falcons were 11-5 last season. This year 5-4.
The Jags were 3-13 last season. This year 6-3.
The Raiders were 12-4 last season. This year 4-5.
We were 13-3 last season. This year 5-4.
I may have missed a couple. But this wild swing from one year to the next is the reality for 10 teams so far this year. These are not just a couple of games here or there but huge swings from really good to really bad or really bad to really good. It was only a season ago that we were on the up swing of a similar scenario.
This is just the reality of the modern day NFL. I personally think it sucks and keeps the star power down in the league.
What we are experiencing is the new normal unfortunately.

What would that giant excuse be?
Its not an excuse for our coaches at all. You may choose to read it that way. Thats on you.Your post. It's a big excuse for Garrett and the powers that be. Essentially, it shouldn't be surprising we scuffle because that's how the league works.
It's an excuse, a cover-up, for the fact that what ails us isn't parity or what the NFL has become........... what ails us is a flawed front office plan on how to build the team and a mediocre coaching staff. That's what ails us.
The NFL is not immune to what socialism does.
You forcefully strip away all greatness and bring everyone down to the lowest common denominator. That's the way it works.
Of course it is.
I present the facts and show that our situation isn’t unique.
Look the top teams in the NFC are the eagles, Vikings, Saints and Rams.
4 teams that didn’t even sniff the playoffs last season. This isn’t an excuse. It’s a fact.
I’m still not seeing the excuse?
I’m seeing the reality of today’s NFL. It’s not even debatable really. The facts are presented.
I've said it before and i'll say it again, the only way this team will win a SB is if we have all pros at every position with all pros backing them up. we dont have the coaching or in game adjustments needed to beat teams. unless we can run it down there throats..... we are a very mediocre team.
Its not an excuse for our coaches at all. You may choose to read it that way. Thats on you.
I would have dropped Garrett a long time ago. A long time ago.
My post doesnt excuse anyone. It simply states facts that when you have so many teams go from great to awful and visa versa that there is more to it than just us stinking all of a sudden.
Sean Payton and Brees didnt just wake up and remember how to coach and play in the offseason.
In fact my argument would be that we need a staff like the very few teams that dont suffer these roller coaster seasons. The Steelers are still playing well. The patriots are always good. Even the Seahawks are consistent contenders.
Not when the multiple people are the same crew. You know who you are. Then maybe you should have started a post like that? Instead of one that looks like nothing more than excusing failure.
And when multiple people are saying the same thing, it's not on them, it's on you.
Not when the multiple people are the same crew. You know who you are.
At no point did I frame my original post as a JG defense post.
I only stated the facts that the modern day nfl is filled with parity which results in worst to first and first to worst happening as a regular part of the game unfortunately.
Do we have a superstar elite coaching staff that is immune to this parity? Of course not.
The excuse is looking outside at "the rest of the NFL" to justify the failing happening inside the building.
You're pointing at someone else's down swing as justification for this team's struggles.
If you want to look outside, look no further than the division, and ask yourself why the Eagles managed to recover from Chip Kelly's debacle and pass the Cowboys by in just two years while "the process" can't get the job done in eight years?
But that's likely an inconvenient truth and something many would rather not deal with.
