It’s just simply stating he seems to excel in a pass rushing role.

I watch the games and the only time I ever notice him around the ball is when he is chasing the QB so it’s a pretty sound judgement.
No, it basically means he rushed once and got a sack. It like saying a backup ballball player that hit a home run in his 1 at bat has a 1000 batting average.

Compared to Taco...............well, just saying

Since week one, Watt has two sacks and Taco has 1.

Watt plays about 90 percent of his team’s stats, Charlton plays about 40 percent so on a per snap basis, Charlton has actually been slightly better.

Yes taking away week one benefits my point but it’s safe to say that game was an anomaly at this point.

Now Watt is obviously not rushing the passer every play but Charlton isn’t always on the field in obvious passing downs either. You could argue that Taco should be starting...you may be right but do who do you sit for him? Our DL has been a bright spot all around.

He rushed at least 15 times and got to the QB for a sack, hurry or hit 31 percent of the time so at least 5 times.

It’s okay to say he’s a bad football player at this point but he may have a skill set that could excel as a pass rusher.

When Lee/Hitchens were both healthy, we seen him in the backfield several times.

Greg Gabriel (former Bears scout) had him ranked as a pass rushing DE in the PFW draft guide a few years ago. This was acknowledging his injury.

Perhaps there is something to that.

Jaylon is 6’2, 245 pounds
Lawrence is 6’3 265 pounds

Size wouldn’t be an issue and nothing an offseason wouldn’t fix. The experiment only has 2 more seasons, might as well let him play to his strengths.

Well, he can't read a run unfolding in front of him.

Giving him one job to go sic the QB might be helpful.

Regardless of his potential, those stats are meaningless in terms of comparing him to full time pass rushers. It's called small sample size in stastics.

Jaylon excels at straight line speed right now due to his nerve regeneration, and as expected struggles with changes in lateral direction. Directional change is usually one of the last aspects of sports related rehab before return to sport.

Give the kid some time.

It is good to see him excel at rushing the passer, using what he is capable of physiological as of now.

I said this when we drafted him, but I wish we played him more like how John Fox used a young Von Miller as a 4-3 dog SAM on the edge. I don't know if Marinelli would be willing to do that.

Such a misleading stat or conclusion based on the stat. He's blitzing, not going one-on-one with an OT. The call to make him a pass-rusher is ridiculous.

Why haven't our coaches figured that out?

I don't know if you have noticed, but our coaches are not the sharpest tools in the shed.

They saw the wide 9 defense last week and went all deer in the headlights.........but don't worry, on Wednesday they announced they have made adjustments in case they see the wide 9 again.

I honestly don't believe he has blitzed 15 times. If he has, it might be 15 on the dot. Small sample size of course.

However, the only time he has had any success whatsoever is definitely rushing the passer. That should be his only limited role for the rest of 2017 until he's hopefully more healthy next year.
