I think this might be a win win. I also think he could replace JG at some point. He has a great relationship with Dak and they respect each other. Our play calling has been horrendous and we need a change, I really was hoping to wake up to today and see that Linehan was fired..

This would be nepotism.

Let Romo start out as a QBs coach and work his way up the right way. Don't just hand people positions because you think they might be good at them. This is what Jones did when he hired a 2 year QB coach to be offensive coordinator and assistant head coach...

Romo likes Linehan’s play-calling and he implicates Dak more than Linehan...

And Linehan is well respected throughout the league and the numbers he put up in Detroit were top of the league...

No.... We need to go in a different coaching direction all the way around. I like what the Rams did. They went with a young guy that can get in there with the players and truly inspire them. Dude has turned that franchise around in just one off season. Unreal.... Yet here we are in year 7 with Coach Gravy Train...

Why would he leave the penthouse job he has now to take an OC job?

Why would we hire an inexperienced position coach to replace another inexperienced (when he was hired) position coach that has failed miserably? Forget the name....look at the resume.

We all know Romo likes to play, but why add the stress of the pressure to win in his life again? Right now he has a front row seat to the NFL in a relaxing cushy job. You see how much fun he is having in the booth and out (showing him doing the golf shoot-out contest with his buddies). I would be shocked to see him leave that position.

With that said, he sure does seem to be able to diagnose plays. He could be really good at it.

We don't need a different play caller, we need a completely different and updated scheme to take advantage of today's rules, not the rules of 25 years ago.
Exactly. A new play caller would just be calling the same plays at different times. It's still a bad SCHEME.
