Again, your application of "smoking gun" is oversimplified and I'm not going to be saddled with it.

That said, the sword cuts both ways.

Are you telling me Cohen would agree to plead guilty and that SAC would agree to pay $1.2B in fines knowing the SEC didn't have substantial damning evidence against them?

Anyways, this has been fun and respectful. If you wanna discuss it further I'm game, but otherwise we can just agree to disagree.

Absolutely, I always enjoy your posts. My point on Cohen is that he pled guilty to avoid trial because he had a high likelyhood of doing hard time, even with no smoking gun.

The issue in our posts is the distinction of what makes a smoking gun and this NFL/Dallas issue is in the early stages. Lets see where it goes, we don't know yet but IMO there is smoke and there may be fire. So I definitely agree to disagree.

Cowboys are one of the least penalized teams in the NFL, the offense has been monkey spunk for 3 weeks, but OMG Holding Calls Conspiracy! :muttley:

Your hero worship of the refs is looking sort of ridiculous. Evidence, which you won’t address, is piling up. Evidence of bias and extreme inconsistency. Not a conspiracy. Bias.

Just make your snide comments and don’t offer any explanation. That’s what really smart people do in a discussion. Which we all know you are.

8 games with no holds is hard to explain away. A hall of fame player illegally slammed well after the play was dead is hard to defend.

You can’t and won’t.

:lmao2:

That's what I think. I really doubt an actual conspiracy is being carried out, but, inconsistency is a near certainty with the possibility of subconscious bias.

Legit question guys.......................over these past three games, do you really think a holding call or two would have changed the outcome?

We are losing games by over 20+ points, is one or two holding penalties on our opponents really going to make that much difference at this point?

And by the way, I agree that the lack of holding calls has something to do with Jerry vs Goddell, I just don't think it would matter right now.

Think of how many drives that we could have scored points that were either called back or killed due to untimely penalties. Think of how many offensive drives for opponents that have been helped by not calling penalties on them. The scores would be much closer, and a more manageable game for our offense to catch up or potentially win. Players get frustrated. We're constantly behind the chains. That's when players start making dumb mistakes.

I notice these non-calls are most egregious during the 1-3 quarters. By the 4th, opponents have all the momentum and have made the game beyond reach.

So, subconscious bias that cannot be proven but can always be convienently leveled at an entire group to explain away something.

Yep, works for me.

Maybe you missed the part of "possibility", and it wouldn't take the entire group to have an effect. I admit it's pretty speculative but I have a hard time dismissing the lopsided level of non-holding calls.
FWIW it very well might not have made any difference over these last 3 disasters.

Lol, so your accusations of "bias and extreme inconsistency" is just you "forming a theory?"

And you wonder why I have to bring up spaghetti monsters to try to reason with you, smh.
Maybe I’m giving you too much credit. Your reading skills need work.

Let’s go over again slowly what has taken place so you better understand:

I said you’d have to be dim-witted, which is now clear, for you to think my making accusations of bias and inconsistency is somehow me forming a theory—which I never claimed. Look up conflate. That seems to be what threw you off. Reading is fundamental. That must be embarrassing since you claim you’re very smart.

I’m simply pointing out the facts on a message board. You can’t argue these facts. You can only deflect and try to sound smart. Which you’re miserably failing to do.

There’s holding on every play. It’s not a coincidence we haven’t received one in our favor. Jerry going the league has backfired big time.

1. Very few are saying there’s an actual conspiracy. Don’t confuse that with two morons making that accusation every other post.

2. All penalties aren’t equal. Pass interference and delay of game are two of the many that are. One involves judgement and one doesn’t.

Has the Dean Blandino incident been factored in? I mean we also went 13-3 because we had some calls go our way that season. When Dean was spotted in August on the bus NFL execs were pissed off about the appearance of it all...

There is no doubt that the Detroit call factored into the Dez no catch call.

Can’t be proven. No **it. We aren’t investigative reporters or the FBI. We’re simply stating what we think to be unique facts and prompting a discussion. Why not argue the facts? Provide some examples where other players were body slammed? no holds for 8 games, etc. We all know you won’t do this because it will weaken your position and possibly damage your “NFL worldview”

Oh, that’s right your responsibility to provide examples. Yet, in this thread you go on and on quoting numerous examples of FBI convictions which have very little to do with the original discussion. Sad :(

Michigan fans are - surprise! - blaming the refs for their loss to Ohio State. It seems the Big Ten commissioner has it out for them. They're going to send him some strongly worded letters to let him know they're on to him, and they're not gonna take it anymore. I thought maybe you guys could use some of their ideas. Enjoy. :muttley:

"It's a conspiracy!", Michigan style
