Dez tipped the pass into the air for an INT.

The overthrow of Zeke in the left flat was due to last second hands up by the defender rushing against Bell. Dak was just trying to avoid it getting blocked. Side note, Dez was a similar distance from the intended receiver as the defender that caught the INT but made no effort to go for the ball or get to the defender to tackle him.

Bailey missed field goals.

Dak was under heavy pressure often and was hit hard a few times.

If Dez does not screw up multiple times and if Tyron was healthy, we would be discussing a great win.

From week 10 on, Dak was 31'st in passer rating, beating only Kizer, but hey, he's not at fault.
BTW, Dez also sucked.

You guys realize that despite that 6 sack game, Dak is not even in the top 10 QBs getting sacked right? On top of that, some of the guys who have been sacked more than him this year have way better stats than him.
Why doesn't poor protection affect guys like Brady, Wilson, and Wentz ?(all have been sacked more than Dak)
Is Dak that weak minded that he still hears Clayborne breathing down his neck to this day?

OMG you don’t realize every QB is affected by poor pass protection. Also, don’t you realize Brady and Wentz are running Offensive schemes that are light years more advanced than ours. NE and Phily actually change their game plan every week depending on the opponent. We basically relia on good execution of the same basic game plan game after game. When the game plans not working Garrett’s in game adjustments don’t work or more likely they are non existent( remember Atlanta. Dak is getting killed by their Right DE and no adjustments are made, UNTIL the next game).Our offensive system is simple and easy to figure out. Just ask Bobby Wagner and Seattle’s D they could have told you this before the game. Also, why the hel_ didn’t Garrett chip for Bell consistently?Clark was beating Bell like a drum all game. NE and Phily scheme their receivers open at least several times every game. Do or coaches scheme guys open? Very seldom. You can blame Dak, Dez, Witten, or any player you want, but the main problem on this team by far is Garrett. Pass it on. We will NEVER win a Super Bowl with Garrett.

Not having manageable downs and distances from playing behind the chains most of the season is what happened to Dak. Poor playcalling and not making halftime adjustments is what happened to Dak. Not having a solid team around him which contributed to a number of poor decisions and him having to carry the team at times is what happened to Dak.

He’s not very good at being a QB. Sucks but it’s true.

He’s not very good at pre snap reads.
He’s not very good at throwing receivers open.
He’s not accurate with the football.
He holds on to the football way too long.

He’s got one more year and if he hasn’t improved and shown he’s capable of playing at a consistently high level he needs to go. In any case some competition needs to be brought in this offseason.

The 2016 season says hi.

And as far as holding the ball too long? That’s typically what happens when routes do not take shape for a good 10-15 yards down field on damn near every snap. Blame Linehan for that cluster **** and for his own lack of awareness when it comes to down and distance.

I think he put too much pressure on himself to carry the team when Zeke sat out. I think He is good and will get better, but the weight of carrying Americas team was more than he could handle. I don't think he is ready to call audibles and RPOs as much as he did. Coaches should not have put that on him. Only time will tell, but he needs more weapons around him.

I agree. The more I see and hear from him, I get the impression he wouldn't speak up if he didn't feel comfortable with something. He'd take it on to be agreeable to the coaches.

And he doesn't seem to be the person to thrive in that situation. He's more the perfectionist. He wants to do everything he does perfectly, not just to the best of his ability. He's the type guy if you keep putting the bricks on him before he's ready, you'll crush him.

We need to hire a Vulcan with a Tony Romo personality to do a mind meld. Or get Dak drunk before the game.

Well yeah, but remember Prescott was a top 10 passer prior to week 10. Since then, these are the QB who've been sacked the most, and their passer rating when pressured.

Wilson 22 sacks 61.6
Gabbert 22 sacks 60.3
Prescott 21 sacks 54.1
Brissett 19 sacks 55.9
Trubisky 19 sacks 49.9

Last year, his passer rating while under pressure was 63.5, so it's safe to say pressure matters.

The bigger issue is that he hasn't been the same QB since week 10, even when he's not pressured.

Pretty much why the correct way to bring along a QB is to draft them and let them learn behind a vet so the are prepared when it's time for them to take over. The Cowboys tried to get get cute with the process and it hurt the team and might ultimately ruin Daks chance at becoming a great QB.

1. No Zeke for six games.
2. Poor protection. Tyron Smith missed time, played hurt all year.
3. Poor receiver production. Failure to gain separation. Tipped balls led to at least three picks I can recall.
4. Dak himself regressed in some areas (accuracy, ball placement). And I'm a huge supporter that readily admits it.
5. Poor playcalling and scheme.

These, plus I would agree with the Romo influence and add two others things. Dak has played through injuries this year when he didn't last year and finally, Dak did have mistakes last year because he was so phenomenal as a rookie that a lot of fans glossed over them. He wasn't quite as good as he looked last year and he definitely isn't as bad as he has looked this year.

And this year he hasn't looked bad, its just not what fans got used to last year.

As Percy said.....

Passer rating is dependent on the receivers and the ones in Dallas are #3 type at best.

Percy also posted earlier in the season about how Dak's passer rating when Dez is the target is drastically worse than all the other receivers.
