Will Dez take a pay cut? "Hell no"

And that, ladies and gentlemen, sums the problems of 28 years of Jerry Jones. I am a Garrett supporter but when the owner allow such culture of the players and staff to have direct contact with him to talk about team, staff, plans, schemes, etc .. you will never even come close to a establish winning culture.

If Jerry really has winning at the top of his list, he would cut Dez right away, and tell the whole world Garrett him because he is talking to the owner about this and that.

I, like many others, doubt winning is at the top of his list. I even guarantee you Jerry is the happiest person in the world when he read "talk to Jerry about the scheme" .. go head .. bring a new HC who can deal with this

Let the losing continue

Players have always had contact with owners that’s nothing new nor a recipe for losing.

We can go 8-8 without him. Doing it this year.
Did i miss where the titles came in?
But aren’t you missing the point tho? That they’ve been mediocre before him and are now mediocore without him and he clearly raised the level of everyone’s game. He just did. Who is dak making better?

https://www.thescore.com/nfl/news/1...-pay-cut-from-cowboys-hell-no-i-believe-in-me

Dez Bryant doesn't buy the notion that he's lost a step, and even if he secretly does, it won't lead to him accepting a pay cut from the Dallas Cowboys this offseason.

"I haven't heard no talks of that, but if it comes ... I don't know, probably not," the receiver told Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News, before cementing his stance: "Hell, no. I believe in me, yeah."

Bryant, who turned 29 in November, hasn't looked like his old self this year, instead struggling to get separation from defenders. However, he attributed his declining production to the Cowboys' offensive scheme, a case of tendinitis that bothered him down the stretch of the season, and mental struggles.

"I'm not going to sit here and act like nothing has been wrong because it has," Bryant said. "Football is my life. I accept my role 100 percent but I know who I am and I know exactly what I can do.

"I know if my mind is not cluttered I can beat whoever and whenever and anybody at any time," he added. "Sometimes I let some things get to me that I shouldn't. Watch the tape. I feel like at times I look damn good and then I get to thinking about certain things and it bothers me."

This statement tells you all you need to know. A mental midget. When things arent going his way or guys are chirping in his year, he cant deal.

"I know if my mind is not cluttered I can beat whoever and whenever and anybody at any time," he added.

Time to go Dez. And this guy is supposed to be a leader on this team? Sad.

Honestly, if I am Dez I tell the Cowboys to go F themselves.

I would say “when your piece of crap Head Coach that hasn’t won a dam thing in seven years takes a pay cut, then I will too”

They both need to find new employment.

Lol, please.

Dez could say “I like hamburgers...” and the mob would say “that’s no leader...all he thinks about is food and not football!”

The dimwittery of fans thinking ANY player is going to say “Well, yes! I think I will take a paycut, thank you!” is just silly.

Silly comparison. Dez is admitting here that he can get mentally thrown off his game and it can make him play poorly. And we have seen the evidence of this. Taking plays off, blowing up on the sidelines, disappearing for entire halves of games. Thia is not the type of behavior that inspires people. You cant lead by being a mental midget.

Corners have known this for years and its why they all try to get in his head.

The general consensus in the media and among fans is that Dez needs to go. Do you disagree with that?

My bad.

I jumped the gun and thought you were referencing him saying he wouldn’t take a pay cut as an issue.

I will say his admittance to being thrown off his game is troubling. Especially as a seasoned vet.

Dez would be a fool to admit publicly that he would take a pay cut. Dez actually coming out and admitting his error and taking account of it is actually a good leadership quality.

Dez knows Garrett is just a figure head with no real power or authority, not a real head coach.

So why would Dez not go straight to Jerry?
I agree with him. JG cannot do anything for him except applaud him as he's coming off the field. Jerry has a lot of off field $$ and of course contract $$ invested in Dez. As sad as it is, it's all JJ's call and his investment $$ will be first priority.

It depends on what the topic of conversation is.

If you don't like the scheme, you go to your coach, not your owner.
If you don't like the play calls, you go to your coach, not your owner.
You don't think the ball is thrown to you enough, you go to your coach, not your owner.
If you have issues with a teammate, you go to your coach, not your owner.

For football related issues, you go talk to your coach. Period.

For non-football related stuff, (family issues, money issues, other personal issues, coach issues, maybe locker room stuff) then maybe go to the owner.

That's the way it's supposed to work in a normal environment. But this circus in Dallas is far from normal.

I've been critical of Dez for years and gotten dogpiled for it. But folks, this is the same Dez he's always been. Nothing has changed.

The difference is, now we have a very limited quarterback that lacks the skills necessary to take advantage of Dez' unique abilities.

Put Dez with certain other quarterbacks, and he immediately becomes his old self again.

Dak and Dez would NEVER have worked well together before, and won't in the future.

That's just what it is.

When has Dez gone to Jerry for any of the above mentioned scenarios?

Hopefully those two words is what gets Dez a pink slip out of Dallas.......poor play, big contract, and a me first attitude.....bye Dez.

Dez said yesterday the problem on offense are scheme related and he is going to talk to Jerry about it. Not Linehan. Not Garrett. Jerry.

In a properly functioning organization, Dez would go to the coach. Do you think Gronkowski would go to Robert Kraft to complain if he thought he wasn't getting enough looks?

But the Cowboys are not a properly functioning organization.

Exactly. Players know the coach really has no say when it comes down to it, and Jerry happily undermines his coach every week.

Picture Bob Kraft doing a weekly radio show, questioning things that went on during a game. That doesn't happen in New England because the owner hired the coach to run the show, not just be a part of HIS show. It's one reason why they became winners and the Cowboys became a comedy routine in the 21st century.

The official Fall Guy of the 2017 season.....business as usual. Coaching staff secured, so blame the player(s). Got it.

As for Dak, all eyes on you soon.
I love Dez but he had a chance to let his play back up his attitude and he blew it

Too many drops and turnovers for making such a production.... the other teams were clowning him

Dez has no leverage going forward and a trade might be the best route..... i can't see him subjugating his ego to be a chain mover

From the NBC Sports article “He (Dez) said he would discuss his frustrations with owner Jerry Jones, head coach Jason Garrett and offensive coordinator Scott Linehan in the offseason.”

I’m not defending this franchise as properly functioning, but presenting what was actually said.
