I'm not completely against it but I don't trust Jerry to trade up.

I do think adding elite players is a bigger need now because they have OK players at most positions and don't just need any talent they can get which has been the case some years.
My counter argument is that the more at bats you have the more likely you are to grab an elite player verses giving away two elite picks (1st and 2nd) to get a pick say 10 spots higher than you're currently slated to pick.

it rarely ever works out.

I don't follow this team in the offseason. I used to, but sometime along the way, I realized it was a huge waste of time. So I just forget about the team until the third preseason game.

One of the top 4 qb's who can really fling it would get me excited, but that ain't happening.

Dlaw, sure, lets see after we franchise him, Jaylon Smith, not so fast , and C Awuzie again we ll see, tho after his first year people were sold on Anthony Brown, how did that work out?
Nice shade, bro! That blistering shine from the light of fact can prove a might fierce at times,,, op should've said something along the lines of ' not that much success in the past' with the 2nd Rd.

Do you guys think when Stephen takes over the team he’ll make himself GM or he will get someone from the outside?
I'll bite!,,, steve-o, will in all likelihood , suffer an embarrassing scandal orchestrated by the hands of Goodell, I'm talking ,motel, drugs, dead rent-a-date(s),,, of epic detrimental to the league scandal proportion ,forcing the sale of the franchise,,, if that doesn't happen, then ya! He farms it out to JIMMY JOHNSON,,,o_O

If we could just start a season without a boatload of distractions it would be an instant improvement. The slate has been wiped clean for now. Any guy caught being an idiot in the off-season, and being a distraction, should be given a blanket party at mid field. Enough is enough.....

Most of us have the same feelings regarding this season. From early dumb losses, nagging injuries, suspensions, and then the offensive collapse, we can all come up with our own reasons about why we think this season is one to forget.

Here's my question. Who or what during this off season will help you get over 2017 faster. Jerry isn't going anywhere, neither is Jason. So other than those two, who do you want? What FA is a must for you? Who do we have to draft? Who do we need to cut? What has to change?

I could name 10 on my wish list but I'll just throw out a few and see what y'all say. These guys would make me feel 100% better than I did the last few weeks of the season.

1) Go get Earl Thomas . He wants to be here and he makes our defense better instantly. Possibly top 7.

2) I know he's another primadonna but I'm a Landry fan. This dude has 400 catches in his first 4 years. That's with horrible QBs in Miami. Even Dez gets better if he's comes to Dallas.

3) Roquan Smith is going to be a pro bowl player. If he falls out of top 10, we have to package another pick to move up and take him. Who cares if we give up the second round pick either. We NEVER draft good in round two anyway...
I don't mean this as an argument but Roguon Smith appears to get washed out by athletic Olineman.
I like him alot but I pause and I think over teams might let his size give them pause also.

3. I'm not sure Smith will be that dominant in the NFL. He doesn't syringe me as a Keuchly or Sean Lee type of player. He strikes me as more of a 2nd or 3rd round guy.
He could be a Ryan Shazier type. Cowboys were high on Shazier.

We get Earl Thomas, a LB (Poznuzsky), a DT (Dontarie Poe), a WR (Ridley/Kirk/Washington/Sutton) and a TE (Goedert).

Or Earl Thomas, Roquan Smith, Poe/Benny Logan, Martavis Bryant, Goedert.

I’m not gonna hold my breath.

I like your moves, cant argue against any of them.

I really don't have a name in mind, but one area we I would feel better about upgrading is speed at the WR position. We need to have a WR that is a threat to take any pass to the house, like OBJ if you want a name. Not him specifically, but a WR like him that can take a 5 yard slant 75 yards to the house. We don't have a single WR that can do that.

Jerry getting older and closer to death. I know that sounds terrible but i really don’t think we’ll win one while he’s alive. Al Davis part 2.

But then again I remember he will be followed by Stephen and I don’t think Stephen will be much better. Stephen I think is the big reason why we get bargain bin dudes. He’ll probably keep Garrett too.

Come on now, lets not be talking like that.

To your second part, I agree. Unfortunately Stephen is just as dumb as his daddy with one big difference. Jerry didn't mind paying big money to players, it just happened to be the wrong players most of the time. Stephen is a lot more frugal and prefers to build almost exclusively through the draft and uses free agency to shop for bargin bin players that are nice and cheap. He also uses analytics and that is why Demarco never got paid, Stephen has spreadsheets after spreadsheets after spreadsheets telling him that a RB on a second or third contract never is worth it.

And yes, Stephen seems to be just as infatuated with the Clapper as his stupid daddy is.........I guess they both like losing, been doing it for 20 yrs.
