Yes true!! I was wondering why they all thought offense!Am I missing some inside joke on this pass coordinator thing? It pertains to the pass defense, Eberflus is not working on offense
He wasn't moved to offense.Eberflus has spent more time in his career as a DC and linebackers coach than he has as a passing game coordinator.
Not sure why Dallas moved him to offense.
He wasn't moved to offense.
"Passing game coordinator" on the defensive side of the ball. The point being to help tie up the front 7 to the secondary. Basically pulling the LBs and DBs together, meeting and working on coverages.
Wait? What? When did that happen?Scary that people actually thought he was the LB coach and the offensive passing game coordinator.
I agree with much of this. However, we have invested so much in our offense. Look at the number of first round draft picks, big contracts ect we have playing offense. We have more talent on offense and more invested into the offense than maybe any team in the league. It’s disturbing to see teams know our plays and feel so comfortable playing defense against us.The other side of the ball has been bad for only one season and it was primarily due to losing our best offensive player for six games and our LT for a few games. Prior to Zeke’s suspension the Cowboys scored over 30 points in four straight games. They didn’t score fewer than 28 in five straight games. When the Cowboys finally figured out how to get back on track after Zeke’s suspension they had back to back 30 point games. they had a 40 point game this season.
Granted the playcalling was awful at times but the offense still showed enough to stay with Linehan. If we could add a speed WR and add a solid backup LT, along with having Zeke a full season we could turn the offense around quick. A couple of solid player acquisitions along with a few adjustments may be all we need offensively.
That would be pretty typical. Uh oh, New England is sniffing around him, better promote him before they get the chance!
All I know is that Marinelli, if he is truly considering retirement, needs to be pressured to make his decision now. Like within the next two weeks. The worst thing would be for him to step down, the one potentially qualified coach to replace him follows someone else to a new staff and Dallas is left holding the bag.
There is no way they let him wait until after the draft to decide.Yes, Marinelli is thinking about retirement, according to almost everyone who reports on the subject. What worries me the most about it is that the Cowboys organization is said to be willing to allow him all the time he needs to make up his mind. I suspect that might come once the draft is over. That point in time might well be a bit late in the game to find and decide upon a proper replacement.
At any rate, Marinelli may or may not be coaching for the Cowboys through 2018. It's a pretty good bet that Jason Garret will do his utmost to convince Marinelli to stick around in 2018. His HC job will quite possibly be hanging in the balance, once the upcoming season is in the books and coaching decisions are pending.
