The whole GROZ thing seems pretty silly now.. So where are all those GROZ at? Remind us never to listen to those posters again.

Zimmer's defense was terrible towards the end of his last season here. And "terrible" might be an understatement. Opponents were scoring 30-40 points on us regularly. I know he was asked to run a 3-4, but it was hard to be in his side when his defense was performing so poorly.

I wasn't trying to change the argument. I was simply feeding you a different perspective that ties into the lack of ability by our coordinators to inspire excellence.
I don't fully disagree, but church is flourishing, so is Newman, but the rest haven't done anything to stand out as flourishing. will Dez go somewhere else and flourish? probably. how about Beasley, who only ran three or 4 different routes and from same formations and became ineffective. yeah, send him to NE and he will be awesome. but nobody on current final 4, except amendola, who we cut, then philly cut. then again anyone going to NE somehow becomes a player.... it must be in the water :)

Or in Garrett's water.

Honorable mention to Matt Lafleur, the Rams OC and maybe future head coach of the Titans. I still remember him being drafted and giving pause when I heard on a draft show that he had pervious back problems...
Matt LeFleur was not drafted.

David LeFleur was a 1st round pick by the Cowboys...

I only counted 6 players....who cares about Coaches

Amendola. MBennett, BChurch, JParnell, TNewman, Sendejo

That really is not even a footnote let alone a big story
The big mistake...JP got away...

How could that even be possible? He left to be the DC in Cincy and it had a lot to do with his comfort level in running 3-4 versus 4-3. Zimmer is a 4-3 guy. We were a 3-4 team at that time.
We could have gone back to the 4-3 upon replacement of Parcells. It would have taken a few years but it could have happened. Everyone knew Zimmer was a 4-3 guy that was making the best of a Parcells wish.

The 4-3 running Zimmer was special. The 3-4 Zimmer.. not so much.

Zimmer should have replaced Parcells...
I like Zimmer..alot, but was he ready to be a HC 11 years ago? At the time he wasn't getting any offers from anyone else in the league, 31 other NFL teams and nobody else though he was HC material either. He got recognized after what he did in Cinci. Hindsight is a beautiful thing

He was good in Dallas. Maybe he wasn't ready but who knows. The red clapper got the chance to learn on the job so...

Correct but JG was also being courted by other teams to be their HC while he was with the Cowboys as our OC. Other teams in the league felt JG was HC material, it wasn't the same for Zimmer at the time

I never liked Garrett.
I liked JG when he was hired i felt he would bring the right attitude back to our team. I was never worried about his 1st 3 seasons going 8-8 ( i saw the way he was building the team and i liked it) and when we went 12-4 in 2014 i felt we turned a corner. I did give him a mulligan in 2015 with all the injuries and the way we played in 2016 it looked again like we were the team we were in 2014. After this past season it is time for JG to go. I think he has had his chance (7 years ) and hasn't been able to get the job done, even though i think the players play hard for him i don't think he has what it takes to get us over the hump and to a SB. Time to make a change, unfortunatley it isn't going to happen for the 2018 season

We wasted 3 years with Free

CGreen reminds of Parnell............ he is just so dominating when he gets it right physically that they shouldn't throw him away because of one bad game against a tough match-up technique wise

zimmer left the cowboys during Parcells time. Parcells was a 3-4 guy and reluctantly went with zimmer and 4-3 and then decided to change it. Zimmer left the cowboys. he went to Cinci and got passed over many times for headcoaching positions and wasn't even Minn. first option. so having a crystal ball is always helpful I guess.

the one that hurt, was losing Sean Peyton, the year before parcells decided to retire. he would have probably be parcel replacement.

Just because he went to Cinci didn't mean that they couldn't bring him back. They ended up switching back to the 4-3 later anyway.

I agree about Sean Peyton. Parcells screwed them over by leaving a year too late or early whichever way you want to look at it. Too late to keep Peyton too early because they ended up with tge cupcake and clapper...
