I believe what I said was "feel free to explore it"...I'm still waiting for you to quote where I posted anyone should leave this country...You're grasping at straws now bringing MLK in to this...He made his own stage, he didn't rely on a sports venue to provide one...I actually have respect for what he did...What you're trying to say, not so much...you're the definition of a hypocrite...
A weak response and a weak attempt to backpedal from your internet tough guy comments where you tried this red white and blue bullcrap. It probably sounded better in your mind than it came out... It was awkward.
Now you are pressed and you wilt and back down so easily. Typical.

NFL tried like hades to stay out of the protest thingie. They never took sides. And were actually being very nice to let their employees use their workplace to protest.

I fully understand that the NFL is still the monster in the room. Trust me that double digit drops in ratings has them worried. MLB was knocking on death's door until steroids, McGuire, Sosa, and Bonds happened. Regardless if they ever get in the hall they saved baseball. Don't think that the NFL can't go down that road.

I agree. I couldn’t be more bored with the ******** patriots. Couple that with terrible officiating and my hatred for goodell. My interest in the NFL is at an all time low.
Don't get me wrong, I am a true Cowboy fan but if we had a run like the Pats, we would be lovin life......just like the Pats fans are doing. It's been a long time since we were on their pedestal.

I know I haven't watched any of the playoff games. I couldn't care kess about the games this Sunday, or the Super Bowl. I already know Patriots are getting #6.

I simply don't watch the game until the game starts. I never gave a fried bird turd what happened in the pregame. I want to watch football, I watch football. Not any more complicated than that.

I didn't watch anything except for one quarter of the eagles game...and that was because someone reached out to me with a "hey, did you see that?" comment....I have more important things to do this weekend like clean out my basement and shovel snow from places that no one will walk in until it melts anyway

Wow, "internet tough guy comments". Really? The only one threatened by my comments appears to be you. Please post any threats I made. As for my Red White and Blue "bullcrap", as you put it, I stand by that. I believe ANYONE has the right to protest the wrongs in this country. I don't believe they have the right to do it where they work. I watch football to watch football, plain as that. If you can't understand that then I don't know else to tell you...If you want to call me a "liar" because I say I don't watch football because of the protests, then so be it...you're the only one I've seen attacking anyone in this thread...

I'm done with you...

Not what I said. But without the zeke bs its possible.

Like I said that seemed to be what you were inferring. One other point I’ll make. You have some amongst Cowboys Nation who think the league is trying to do everything to keep the Cowboys out of the playoffs which is ridiculous. We lost Romo in 2015 and ended up going 4-12. You have a couple of teams battling to go to the Super Bowl this weekend that are playing with backup QB’s. We didn’t have Zeke for six games this season and we allowed it to ruin our season.

It’s not the league it’s us. You have those who are being so ridiculous they think the league is fixed. It makes you wonder why they even watch the game if they believe that. Some think it’s been pre determined by the league that the Pats make the playoffs every year. It’s absolutely ludicrous what you read on this board. The Cowboys have the most idiotic fan base of any in the league.

If they ever want football to get back to its previous popularity, they have to get consistent with the rules.

The officiating is ugly, and the games have started to turn into who happens to appeal to the refs on a certain day rather than on talent.

I agree about the officiating. The Jags-Steelers game was good not only because the play on field, but also because there werent many penalties

I get it...I do...
But when each season you have completely different teams who are the 'best' teams then it become a ratings problem for the casual fans.
First to worst and worst to first is becoming the norm instead of an exciting rare event.
This is what first place schedules, free agency, and talent stretched thin gets you.
You may enjoy it... I'm sure you do.. But the ratings don't lie. People feel indifferent about the game.

Good point and I haven't thought of that before. In the 1970s when I became a fan, the "good" teams were just about set every season. In that decade, the Rams won their division 7 times, the Vikings 8 times, the Cowboys 6 times (and won the NFC once as a Wild Card), the Steelers 7 times, the Dolphins 5, and the Raiders 5. There was the occasional upstart like the Broncos and Commanders, but for the most part everyone knew who was good and those teams all had star power. Other teams rose up and replaced these teams and when they did, it was a big deal like the catch game. I think it helped the casual fans to follow the NFL. But now you have New England, and everyone else hovers around mediocrity except the Browns, and random injuries, calls, and luck sends some to the playoffs and keeps some home. You never can tell. Like you said, this is becoming the norm and it makes it tough on the casual fan.

Are you their employer? You don't get to make the decision that they don't have the right to protest where they work. You may not like it.. But this doesn't give you the right to tell someone else what their rights are. We all watch football to watch football. You are not unique in that. I could say I don't watch football to watch people be forced into a forced patriotism gesture. This is part of what makes us great in America. This isn't north korea where you are told you better bow to the dear leader. I guess you are uncomfortable when someone disagrees with you. If someone doesn't want to stand and salute the flag then that is their right. Forced patriotism does nothing for me.

This league is in desperate need of some star power...
You know guys like Zeke Elliott, Dak, and Dez...

Instead fans are being fed a healthy dose of Case Keenan, Nick Foles, and Blake Bortles.

At least the owners agreed to pay Goodell another $200 million.

Sidelining one of those players with a witchhunt certainly wasn't a way to improve the bottom line.

The NFL has to be worried what will happen if the Jaguars win against the Patriots :)

I don't think the league is worried, I'm quite sure "they've already taken care of it"
Count on Brady and NE back in the SB....and possibly no one outside of Minnesota and Boston to watch the game

Let's not drag politics into a discussion about NFL ratings. We can acknowledge that the kneeling issue might have played a role in the drop without discussing the merits of either side of that debate and dragging the thread into a ditch. Thanks.

Do you think advertisers and thus TV networks care?

I’m neither so I do not nor do I understand why any other fan does or would.

My ticket prices are not going down, parking is not going down, concessions are not going down. So why should I care if tv ratings slipped a little and especially at a time when they are slipping for almost everything on tv.
