Orowonko--LB

Based off of what the coaches have said about him ..namely in last offseason...and camp, before he got hurt. I tend to trust what THEY say over what I SAY. I'm far from an expert on what makes a good dlineman/edge rusher, but going off of the feed back by the coaches I must feel pretty confident he will show out,as long as he can remain healthy.Health has been a major issue for him obviously.I wouldnt be mad at all if we drafted The Oklahoma kid..just not at 19..thats a little rich for a raw tweener-project. I might wanna draft him in late round 1 if we drop down and gain a couple extra picks.

To me he is a DE or 3-4 OLB. Using him as SAM is a waste of his talent. His biggest asset is passrush.

If you want a SAM LB then USC LB Uchenna Nwosu is my guy in 3rd round. Has a knack for finding the ball. 1 Int and 13 passes broken up last yr. Also can give you some pass rush.
^^^^^THAT^^^^^^

Guys..if we go Linebacker..I'm gonna go get the USC kid the other poster here just mentioned..OR for some reason if Roquan Smith ,Edmunds drops to 19.... I see the Oklahoma kid as a 3-4 tweener..sometimes with his hand in the dirt, others as a hybrid type outside linebacker. A specialty guy.To me you dont draft a specialty guy in the top 25. You want a guy who will be an instant impact player for a high percentage of plays. He's just so raw guys..not sure really where to draft him.

The coaches are gonna rave about everyone and be uber positive all the time, I'd take that with a grain of salt.

Bottom line is he was a mid round prospect with extremely limited edge experience before turning pro.

As much as we rotate the rush men, and play a SAM backer in base looks,he'd still get plenty of snaps to warrant the pick.

I see a very good football player but not a first round talent. He is going to need some time to develop but I'd love to have him on the team. He played well against top competition and stands out on the field every game. I'm of the mind that you don't have to always pick the the best player as long as you always pick players that are good at the game of football and this is one of those guys. I'm happy we got jourdan Lewis in the 3rd but I wouldn't be up set if we picked him in the first because he's a good football player that's worth picking. There are a ton of players not worth any pick but yet every year devin street types get drafted in every round.

I want Oko on the team, I'd prefer him in the second and like Lewis I'd be ecstatic if we got him in the third. If he was the pick at 19 I'd have reservations about the rest of the draft but it wouldn't be a bad pick just probably not the best pick. If he were the pick at say 31 and we get an extra second or maybe a third and fifth then I'd say it's a savvy pick and be excited to see what we do with the extra picks.

Yeah originally I really liked him as a 2nd or 3rd round steal. I think he will probably be there at #19 but I really doubt he will fall all the way to our pick in the second round if the service I saw was anywhere close to correct on his grade.

He strikes me as a thumper inside MLB that would play DE on pass rushing downs or blitzing from the outside LB position on passing downs.

Ware was pretty raw too.

No service is more than about 10% correct after the top ten or so. Ryan Anderson went around our 2nd last year and reaquan McMillan and Zach Cunningham went after. If a 3-4 team wants him I like him more than tysus bowser from last year but less than tj watt. I think there is a good shot at him being within range to grab in the second; I don't see us staying put this year, I think we use our comp picks to get the guys we really want in the second and third rounds and I give a 30% chance we try to get back into the first round.

That's undoubtably true. But if he is tabbed as a top 20 pick what is the chance that he will drop a full round lower? Later on in the draft, they can be several rounds off on projections. But if a player is projected as a top 20 pick a full round is a lot to miss it by.

Healthy pass rushers generally don't drop...

Tweener but could find a role on a team that uses him properly. I'd lean towards him being a better fit in a 3-4 though, then it's easier for him to rush the passer more as a LB like Kyle Van Noy.

Yeah sign me up too. My goodness this dude is explosive. He's going to be a SPARQ aka Dallas Cowboy coaches wet dream.

The man's freaking arms extend down to his freaking knees fer cryin owt lowd.

He has some very Bosa-esque hand fighting ability too.

keeping my Ou bias out of it....he just gets after people....LOVE this guy.
I dont know if 19 is too high or about right...but if we see our board get washed out...he should be in the convo.

Although I am an OU fan I really haven't watched much college football lately. But when I did this guy just jumped off of the TV screen compared to other players. He seems to be a playmaker like Lee. I think he is better than Roquan who is much higher pimped by the media.

I really like them both.
Smith should be off the board at 19....Obo tho...very tempting.

This guy will go in the first. Exactly our kind of prospect as well.

He's a luxury player for us and not an ideal fit even in the OTTO LB position that was hyped a few year ago. He needs to go to a 3-4 team where he's gonna be a beast as an OLB IMO. At SAM he's not good enough in coverage and looked stiff as an off-ball linebacker. If we wanted to invest a 1st in this type of player we'd have been better off going after TJ Watt last year who had a similar level of pass rush IMO but with some really good tape an experience as off-ball linebacker as well.

Personally, I don't see why we need that type of player. I think Jaylon Smith is deceptively good rushing the passer and if we move him from MIKE to SAM when the situation arises then we've got that type of player. To me that works a lot better because it frees us up to bring in another LB that can cover MIKE and WILL rather than a tweener situational guy that won't get used as much and provides cover for nothing.
