Sounds like Johnny is not the only one that needs to be on meds.

Unlike most I still think Johnny can play. But not here. This thing would derail everything media wise and would be the biggest distraction ever.

Now if we want to hire Art Briles as a full time offseason consultant, behind the scenes, I'm all for it!

If he’s serious about everything going on and staying out of the party lifestyle which I think he is then I don’t think he’d be a distraction. If not then cut him. He could compete with cooper Rush I think that could bring out the best of both of them

I am glad for him he that he has got help. Can't be easy being where he was and admitting that there was something wrong. Hopefully he gets another shot....just not here. Too Hollywood of a story.

I say sign him and you play him when Tyron doesn't play so he gets killed and Dak doesn't.

No. I want a 1st round talent Qb that has admitted his faults and recieved treatment to be given a second chance at a NFL career. With base salary and Cut the second of any slip ups. Thank god your a perfect human being.

Besides, Dallas has a former Coke head Wr in the HOF. What’s your beef?
That former cokehead WR practiced as hard as he played and was a top 5 alltime WR. So, in comparing the two, you're claiming the Johnny was a top 5 QB?

I really don't care if we bring Johnny in or not. I just don't want us to depend on him in any way.

Why the personal attack?

I wouldn’t mind giving him a chance as the 3Qb. Insurance in case Dak can’t rebound, Although I personally want to see more of Cooper Rush this preseason.
Hell, Dallas has rolled the dice on a number of iffy players in the past. What would it hurt to roll the dice on a former 1st round QB that apparently has gotten his life together.. keep him on a short lease. Why not? I’m all for it.

Has anyone else seen his recent interview? He takes full responsibility and seems genuine. He received treatment and is on Bipolar meds.. if we can give others a second chance.. why not him? He won’t cost much and has everything to prove.

The problem is that he's just another inexperienced QB to add to what's becoming a sort of refuge for them. Dak is by far the most experienced guy on the squad, and that includes our QB coach. We don't need more guys without game experience, we need someone who's been an NFL QB for at least 5 years (who's actually played) who the young guys can turn to for actual concrete advice based on prior experience. If Dak is out there and starts to get happy feet and look twitchy I want him to be able to look to the sidelines and see someone who has played through that in the NFL, not another kid. It's already like QB Romper Room out there - a bunch of clueless kids running around looking clueless. Never mind the distraction of bringing him in, I just don't see a whole lot of potential for it to help the team.

This is pretty much just like how I celebrated on not getting Manziel.

Yeah, I know. He's a knucklehead, and didn't look like an NFL QB. I thought it was a joke anyone wanted him in the first round - some of you wanted him, don't deny it - but we know Jerry liked him. Offer him the veteran minimum. If he still sucks, cut him. He'd be cheap competition for Dak, and some fans would be excited about it.

Crazy? Probably, but we have a 76 page thread about the Dez play from 2014. At least this would be relevant.

Ban request.

I wished they would. Hard Knocks is awesome.
I am hoping they are on the next season of All or Nothing where they follow the team around for the entire year. They should be announcing the team they followed last season in a few months. I would really love to get a glimpse of how this coaching staff operates behind closed doors.

Not personal my friend. Just don’t think people should be hypocritical ab Manziel. I also wouldn’t want the Boys to depend on him, hence the 3Qb comment. We have a starter in Dak, that honestly has many question marks himself. And an unproven UDFA in his second year backing him up. I figured, what would it hurt to bring in former 1st rounder that no one would be surprised if he didn’t make it through preseason. I don’t care either way neither..

But if we can bring in trash like Greg Hardy, Joseph Randle, and TO..then let’s not all of a sudden take the high road now. Maybe one day, the gambles pay off

I can agree with this argument.

If I was a GM I would consider bringing him on a team-friendly, zero tolerance deal. You might steal a player and if he does anything stupid, you wash your hands of him.

Unless my team was the Cowboys. This is a bad environment for him. Jerry Jones would try to amp up his Money Manziel persona. He had a history of domestic abuse (at least an accusation) so coming off Zeke's issues last year, that would be a problem. Dak regressed a little last year so there would be some fans calling for Manziel to replace him. The Cowboys might be the worse possible scenario for this type of gamble.

might as well just take Tebow, both him and Dak have throwing issues but are good guys. Garrett wouldn't have to change the playbook since they have the same game. ;)

Hey, we could start one about the non-interference call in the 94 Championship game if you want?
