I'd like to see who else is available.

Doug Martin is a good player when the team is playing good but he likes to check out when things aren't going so well.

If Jeremy Hill is the same price then i'd rather go get him or just stick with a guy like Rod Smith who is hungry for any opportunity he can get.

There is a new thread for every player that is released or rumored to be on the trade block. Do not spend any valuable resources on a player that takes Zeke off the field. You can find in back-up RB mid-late in every draft.

They should be looking for a RB who will be heavily involved in the passing game. Martin is not that player.

I agree. We've been missing a guy wreaking havoc out of the backfield catching passes for a while now. It would be an answer for teams deciding to double Beasley.

The Hill or Burkhead rumors would be a much better for this role.

We don't pass to the RB in the flat much.

That was staple with the 90's Cowboys. I remember Aikman swinging it out to Emmitt all the time.

I'd like to see more of that.

Tampa release Doug Martin
Any interest?
Rod and Keith are special team studs and are willing to play multiple roles. Alfred Morris was a solid back-up and I would rather Dallas sign him over muscle hamster. Dallas can pick-up quality gifted running backs after the draft, these players are also willing to play special teams.

Zeke is too valuable at this point in his career to be in a committee. I will pass on Doug for a younger stud who can learn special teams.

One that can return KO's and PR's. Then we have him as well as Switzer, which I am still not sold on yet.

Ya,
Lets go sign a bust.
Martin has never lived up to his potential, but lets go dig that hole.
I mainly come here to laugh,, its good therapy fellas.
Caught a 15lb blue at 4:42 this morning for those interested.

Quick tip... draft your young RB prospects cheap, with good evaluation.
Don't overpay for previously underperforming dime a dozen vets...

The only thing they want to prove at that point is that hey can snook a team to overpay.

Dmac
Morris/marginal
Geniuses.

I know, right? During Emmitt's best years ('91-'95), he averaged 55 catches a year in addition to rushing 350+ times 4 of those 5 years. The 1 year he didn't was when he held out the first 2 games. The man was a true workhorse. Dunbar had a high of 21 catches one year.

Rod Smith earned the back up spot last year in my opinion...not that we can’t always use more talent, but spending $ on a RB isn’t a good use of resources.

I could definitely see a specialty back like Burkhead signed because it diversifies the offense and Linehan loves having a Lance Dunbar type of specialty back weapon.

But this a very strong draft for RBs in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, which means a good one will be on the board for our pick in the 4th.

Hey Kaiser, fish fry tonight,,, just bring a few brews.
Comparing what we need at the RB2 to Dunbar is, well, worthy of a few brews mate.
