Just another shining example of this franchise's ability to make headlines off the football field. The Dallas Cowboys are not a football team, they're a reality show.....a bad one.

I could care less what happens between Booger and the other owners or Goodell. That loudmouth egotistical awesome person just happens to own the football team I continue to follow and root for despite his ownership.

Who really cares? All of this "Booger will show him", "Zeke was railroaded" or any of this other BS that has little to do with the product on the field, are we not just like the rest of the NFL world, watching this cluster for everything but the game on the field?

He's an embarrassment and it is getting harder each season to look beyond this fool and the ridiculous things that spew forth from his mouth to actually continue to be a fan of the team.

If the league wants their legal costs reimbursed, they should go back to the Manhattan Federal Court.

And ask that the NFLPA to be compelled to pay.

Do courts ever charge "Friends of the Court" legal fees?

You know, you would figure that at some point, and especially after last year, Jerry would finally figure out the importance of having a solid off season with no distractions. We pay nobodies a couple of million to do almost nothing, year in and year out. This is about ego, plain and simple. But no, Instead........

Goodie Goodell did this, not Jerry. Would you willingly pay $2 million for no reason?

Why do you say, "For no reason"?

According to the reporting, this is a fine that is based on the costs the League incurred, after Jerry threatened to sue, spent on legal fees.

If that is true, then it isn't "for no reason". If that's true, it's based on Jerry's threats.

If it were to cost you 2 million dollars to hire a lawyer to defend yourself against a legal threat, would you not demand recompense?

To me, it all depends on the legalities (verbage) of whether the legal fees incurred due to a "threat to sue" are the same as if they were incurred due to him "actually suing."
In other words, If I threaten to sue you and you hire a lawyer to defend, am I responsible for your legal fees? I don't have the answer to that. If I sue you, you don't have much choice but to prepare to defend. But If I threaten to sue, but I don't actually go through with it, (bluff), is that seen as the equivalent or a horse of a different color?

Sadly, both these clowns are a black eye to the game I love most and to the team I loved best. My passion for this game/team is really being tested.

This is actually a good point and I agree. However, because it's a group of owners that make up the League and Jerry is a part of that League, I can absolutely see why they would be pissed at the fact that Jerry is forcing them to spend money towards defending the League against those kinds of threats. Especially if none of them were supportive of the actual Zeke is innocent angle.

I don't dispute, for minute, that this is about ego and power. I believe that all day long. I do, however, question why you would see the fine as "For no reason". I believe there is a reason. I also believe that, while what you explain above is perfectly reasonable, I suspect that because this is a "League" the same rules probably don't apply.

That is just my opinion thou. I am not a Lawyer so I can not speak on this, other then for opinions sake.

Please, the NFL did not incur 2 million because of Jerry. It was to defend the atrocious decision to suspend Zeke for nothing.

You could demand it but in reality you probably wouldn’t win in a court of law.

Some of our fans are so invested in blaming Goodell for everything they'll root for any kind of "victory" for the Cowboys, even if it means elevating the man primarily responsible for the last 20+ years of nothing in Dallas.

I guess I liked the NFL more when I just watched the games on Sunday and didn't know about all of this behind the scenes garbage.
Dude it’s gotten to the point where I’ve seen Cowboys fans bragging about the value of the franchise since they can’t brag about the product on the field.

Another case of the agreements in the nfl skirting real law and being their own laws. These kind of agreements should never be allowed in contracts, where a corp. Is its own judge and jury.

to be blunt your so called reality only exists in your mind. If you cannot see that it was indeed a witch hunt that is your problem.

He's a law and order type of guy. If a superior tells him X, he will more likely than not, believe it without question.

Great, another battle for Jerry to lose after months of speculation from arm chair lawyers that he's got a good chance to win.
